Today I went to Cartier to try on a Ballon Bleu in the 33 and 36 as well as a Tank Anglaise. Not that they'll be in the cards for the next 4 years (I want for my 40th) but I fell in love with the latter two.

I want to get back Into wearing watches. Can anyone suggest something similar to either besides Raymond Weil bec that's still a bit more than I want to spend (Max 500$) til I'm used to it.

Most of what I like has crystals and diamond and I want plain.

There's a seiko(?) at macys that's nice for ~300 but I'm also drawn to the pebble steel too. I'm all over!

Sidebar: Tiffany loved my "dbty" earrings, I must have "worked with the sales associate to get the best pair in stock" lol, I did not correct them.

Definitely get something to wear for the next year or until you decide on the Cartier. I wanted a nice watch (not Cartier nice but :sun: ) and I am so glad I bought an inexpensive $150 range one first, simple fossil maybe? My point is I could not stand the thing on my wrist! I tried to love it and to put it on and take it off and careful every time I wash my hands etc.. it was too much. Perfect trial for me before making a larger purchase. I use to wear a watch too... I guess its been too many years in-between. Now someone gifts me a Cartier I will force myself to wear that sucker

The Michael Kors Emery is similar to the Tank. They also carry models similar to the Ballon Bleu, but they may be a bit larger than 36mm. They're worth checking out, at least...Nordies also carries most of the models.

I have never heard of that site! Is it legit?

But I know there is a Seiko "premiere" at macys under 300 but it's not automatic and might be under 30mm.

seiyajapan.com? It is 100% legit, you can google it for reviews. I think, from the pictures off Amazon and Seiya Japan, that the days are in Japanese and English, and you can set it to the the language of your choice.

Yes they are legit according to members on the watch forums.

I wish there was a better return policy. That's the only thing holding me back. Because I do really like it.

I am waffling on the Seiko that was posted above really heavily. I drew a circle on my wrist that size, to see what I think. I used to wear a watch every day for years, and took it off for my wedding so I wouldn't have the tan line. I never put it back on.

I've been batting around a smartwatch but I don't like any that are out now. But I need to stop relying on my phone for a clock because I end up looking at the time and then getting sucked in.

If you have a nordstrom rack near you they have been selling michele watches valued at $2500 for $589. My gf got one and it had the full metal band. Unfortunately for me they never have it in yellow.

Our Racks never have anything worth a crap in that section. IF they have watches, they're not anything exciting. But most of my issue with Michele is that they don't make anything I want sans diamonds. I do NOT want diamonds on my watch. I wanted a Serien but they won't put it out in a format without diamonds. They must think that if they do that, people will buy the hell out of the diamond-free one, and they won't be able to force the diamonds on people.

Yes, I realize saying that is weird on HERE, but I just want a simple, not diamondy watch!

Me too!, no diamonds for me either!

Would you consider checking out a pawn shop? My mom bought the cutest, vintage rolex for a really good price, under $500. She took it to a Rolex Servicer (is that what you call it?) and they told her it was a real Rolex. (I guess I would take their word. I wouldn't know any better.)

Yknow, you commented on that after someone else mentioned that to me, also. I actually went to a few in TX when we were down there last week without much luck. Locally I've learned that most pawn shops that get that kind of merch have a deal with one of the two local watch dealers that specialize in preowned Rolex etc to buy them before anyone gets a shot at them. And or they're stolen goods. And I don't want a stolen one.

I decided to buy the Seiko Automatic 34mm that was listed above by Julie from Seiya, linked below and above. I was emailing my questions back and forth with the lovely owner Seiya, and told him "I'll be at work shortly, I'll be ordering right when I get there." By the time I got there it was the end of his business day, and he had a "we're closed for a vacation" message. DOH! I emailed him back and said I'll order when you get back, I didn't realize you would be closed! And with amazing service, he sent me a Paypal invoice and said if payment hits soon he'd be able to ship tomorrow (I guess later today...), so I paid immediately. I had asked about getting the links sized down for me, where do I get that done, and he offered to do it for me (he didn't charge, even!) See how much I know about watch related stuff?! I think my dad did my old Fossil that I haven't worn in almost 10 years.

This was the link on the invoice. Even if it comes with Japanese day symbols, it's awesome.

Waiting for wrist shoots...

According to the tracking, EMS from JapanPost takes 4 days. Not sure if that means 4 business or 4 total, so I am not sure when I'll get it next week.
