My local guy in my hometown may never see another watch of mine. He tried to upcharge me for a simple repair of a link because "Its a nice watch, you have to pay more." The same link popped out the next day. He also keeps bugging me about my ring, wanting me to leave it with him for a cleaning (!)

I have an Invicta, and and a vintage Seiko with a rather different crystal needing a repair.

Tourneau has a shop at the King of Prussia Mall. That's the only place I would use.

Lovely! Reasonable distance to West Chester, and I don't have to deal with the train. Have yet to set foot in the mall.

Hope you find someone better than this guy! I worked for a jeweler who used those sorts of tactics, like charging people different prices for the SAME BATTERY based on whether their watch was a $200-500 watch or something higher-priced. So, if someone brought in a Timex he charged them $10 for a battery, and if someone brought in a Tag/Baume&Mercier/etc. he'd charge them $40. It was totally outrageous. His rationale? If we damaged a higher-priced watch while replacing the battery it would cost him more to repair it than a watch of lesser value.

Thanks for your well wishes! This is the only watch repair in my town, and I am not amused by the watch he 'fitted' with cardboard into a platinum case of one of my watches.

Nothing I have is high value, but I have a number of interesting ones that need repair...including a sterling key wind and key set pocket watch.
