Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

I would take either of the Pateks: Very clean design and they tell you everything that the more elaborate looking watches tell you. Just curious: Do you rank the Lange above or below the Patek? The faces on the Pannies are bigger than they need to be.

Very subjective of course. But I believe their movements are of at least equal (exceptional) quality. So my answer is that I beleave they are on equal grounds. Lange and Patek are the top 2 (non-independant) watch co's in the world righ now.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

Thanks, CUSO.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

This is difficult, but I love the Lange!

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

The second Patek looks best on your wrist

HI:

Agreed. That said, I'd buy a Lange but not a chronograph--just a plain one.

cheers--Sharon

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

2nd Patek, hands down

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

Ok, I'm going to give you my personal opinion and I'm going to be blunt (surprise!)- to me the Lange looks like the highest quality of the watches you posted. Thanks for the eye candy!

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

I like the first one (Lange)

It's gorgeous.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

My pick is the first one as well. It is a beautiful watch!

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

My pick is the rose gold rolex - but that seemed like it was a no go ;( I like how simple and easy to read it is and in my area rose gold is not something I have ever seen a person wearing (then again - I've never seen a person wearing a real Rolex around here either :cheeky: ) So the unique factor played into my choice too

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

Love the first one, it's so elegant. But doesn't it really depend on what's already in your collection?

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

i too like #2 on your wrist.....i like that it faces up big but not overly big as many of the other.

MoZo

ps also the black wristband is both casual and dressy.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

Lange, Lange, Lange, Lange, Lange. Sorry, I'm being obnoxious! You know, I think the idea of a Lange, not a chronograph is also maybe something to consider. The chronograph is fantastic but it must add big $! Just thinking about options.

BTW, stick around. Politics and religion are not allowed by the moderators, so when we all follow that, it's all good.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

DF, my humble advice since you haven't owned a JLC is you should treat yourself to one. They're fantastic. Not only are they a legendary maker of movements, the entire style of the watch is integrated with the quality and sensibility of the movement. Very pleasing.

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

I hear you. I just got the money to buy my simple Cartier ring and I'm going to do it in January after the holiday rush. And I've wanted it for a long time!

Your Lange is premium, though. It should hold you over. My Rolex, BTW, is a stainless Air King with white gold stick markers, c 1990 (Air King's were heavier and higher quality dials back then); yours is nothing to sneeze at! I still wonder sometimes whether I should have sold my JLC but it's what I decided to do so I have to live with it.

One thing I'm going to like about the Cartier (gold) ring is no maintenance! No moving parts! Not even any polishing like with platinum. Unlike my watches, it will never leave my hands.

It is kind of strange feeling, isn't it? It just kind of stays with you. ::)

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

How do you determain if a person is a man or woman? Like the person with the Lange, woman who wears mens watch (which I love) or a guy? I am so bad at figuring this out.

If I see a womans watch that is a great value, I want to present it to re correct person. Not trying to offend in any way, I just want to present the godod deal to the right person. Remember, I am comming from the watch forums where there are no women, I am trying to adjust

Re: WARNING!!!!! Went watch shopping, SERIOUS EYE CANDY!!!!!

I really don't know what you're saying, but if you're saying if you find a woman's watch that is a good value, can you present it to a man as an example of something he should wear, then the answer is no. Women have been wearing men's watches since the '70's (and probably long before) but I can't think of a case of the opposite being true. If you mean, if you find a woman's watch that is a great value, then should you recommend it to someone for their wife, then the answer is yes.

I am not able to tell weather anyone is male or female. In the watch forums, all are men so ther is no confussion. Ilona for instance I am not sure I DF IS M or F. I would love to show specific watches but I would like to know who I am talking to. I have a feeling I am going to be crushed just because I want to know if the person is a m or f
