Since I am no longer the beneficiary of it, I believe I can inform you that a very similar unit with the same power is sold here:

It is over $10 less and has just about the same description of electronic components, but just a different appearance.

Chris DiCamillo now owns AGA. I have no financial stake there any longer. AGA is handling the Internet clients, too. I am sp-ecializing in other matters less related to purchase appraisals.

I am going to be working at dispute resoloution, mediation, forensic examination, damage reports, and expert testimony work. These are the main areas of highest interest to me and I see few individuals in the appraisal profession on the jewelry and gemstone side who can afford to compete in this rather limited arena. It won''t make a lot of money, but it will bring me a lot of satisfaction. I have always looked for good niches which fit my personality and that have a chance of success. I am still involved in appraising, and quality control work for a couple major retail chains via my other US lab, but the economy is dictating that more and more of this work is going to be done by our branch in India. I have another, India only, business which will perform hallmarking and assay work for the trade under the legal offices of the Bureau of Indian Standards as it will soon be mandatory that all gold, platinum and silver items made in India for domestic consumption must go to an assay office before they reach the retailer. This testing is based on the British model of date, maker, and fineness testing and marking which has existed for a very long time protecting the British consumer. I feel very badly about the worker''s in the USA who are losing their jobs overseas, but I can''t stop this by willing it to change. It is going to take political pressure from the very top of our government to halt this outflow of business and investment.

Ultimately, I expect to talk to distant employees a lot on SKYPE while helping people here who have problems that need a solution. I will continue to assist Chris and my old AGA staff on occasion, but not in a formal way or for a salary.

I have promised myself that I will ride my motorcycle more this coming year, too. I''m not getting any younger and I see now how times does fly.
