Wanna help look for a tanzanite (for a friend of mine), please? Round, emerald, fancy emerald or cushion shaped, about $200-$400, medium color. Thanks so much!

Does your "friend" ( ) care about precision cutting? And they are looking for medium tone - what about saturation? Strong?

I agree with Chrono. Gene has cut some lovely ones recently.

The other websites that I know who have good Tanzanites tend to be expensive and on the whole have top colour which would mean you'd be limited (probably) to sub 1ct. Have you looked at the normal websites?

I gave her Genes's web site address, as per your suggestions. Thanks so very much ! As for cutting & what she is looking for, she is quite new to colored stones so I think, at this point, the best color for that price range is the most one could try for.

I appreciate the input as I didn't even know where to start; I know almost nothing about tanzanite.
