Can someone help. I am looking a buying a diamond that has a GIA vs2 rating but on the GIA diagram shows a crystal and a cloud on the table. From me understanding Vs2 is always eye clean. Would you be confident that this is eye clean and probably a pretty good diamond? Thank you

If it is truly a GIA-graded diamond, a VS2 should definitely be eye clean. (That cannot be said for many other labs, however.)

You can also ask the seller to look at the diamond to confirm that it is eye clean.

With respect to whether it is a "good diamond," you would need to consider the cut, color, symmetry, and all other aspects of the diamond. Clarity is only one consideration.

yes it is GIA certified vs2. color is H. excellent cut, excellent symmatry, excellent polish, no flour, and it scored a 0.7 on the HCA scale. I was really sort of concerned with the crystal and cloud though. What are your thoughts and thank you for your advice

and would there be any chance of yellow at all with the GIA rated H

Just be sure you can return the stone if the inclusions bother you. Have you seen magnified pictures?

It will not be yellow. But obviously it will not be as colorless as D-F, either.

no I have not seen any pictures. and yes i believe I have a little time to return. Thank you

My GIA graded vs2 stone also has visible black crystals that is visible without magnification. I was disappointed after I purchased the stone sight unseen. So yes it can happen and happens quite a lot actually. It is disappointing.

No, not every VS2 is eye-clean, though it's generally true. Just like not every I1 isn't, though most have naked-eye visible inclusions. The fact the inclusions are under the table isn't necessarily indicative of anything, though. Definitely wait to see it before you decide, unless you won't have time within the return window.

As for color, I personally can't detect tint in an RB down to I. Others can see an off-white tint in Hs. It just depends on your sensitivity.

I have a VS2 and cannot see any inclusions. I would ask the vendor about visibility of inclusions if you are concerned as they can better advise you

Thank you
