After reading the information on this site, I may downgrade my diamond search from a GIA H color/VS2/1 carat to GIA G or H color/SI1/1carat. The question that I pose for you: Is there much of a difference between the two diamonds? Also, I am considering my purchase from Union Diamond or Solomon Brothers. Which do you think would have the best quality and deal? Below are a some diamonds that I found online between the to stores. Which do you think would be the best deal?

Need more information on the stone proportions.

Post the GIA report number and the corresponding carat weight and we can look it up.

I would prefer to go with UD as they can supply idealscope image for their stones, last I heard not so for SB.

Both look promising from the numbers.

HI ceaser,
To answer your question about the differences between VS2 and SI1:
In many cases it takes an expert to see the difference- and can only be done using a 10 power loupe.
NO question people do value diamonds that are exceptionally clean- even if they need magnification to see how clean it is- do you fit into that group?
If not, and you''re buying a diamond from a vendor that can personally assess the stone, you should be fine with an SI1
