This is not a complaint whatsoever, just curiosity!
So, I have a 0.76ct round diamond. According to the GIA report, it has a clarity grade of VS1. On the report''s diagram, it shows one tiny crystal right at the very edge of the crown.
However, I can''t see anything on the 22x louped image of the diamond, and in person, I can''t see anything no matter how closely I look, although the diamond is mounted so I guess it''s possible that a prong is covering the inclusion.
I''m just wondering if the clarity could''ve been judged incorrectly, or if this is really grounds for VS1 clarity? All of the other VS1 clarity diamonds I''ve seen have had more and/or worse inclusions (in the louped images, anyway - presumably they''re almost all eye clean). This one I can''t see at all, so for my purposes, it''s good as IF (without the price to match, which of course I''m happy about!).
Here is a link to the diamond if you want to look for yourself: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1210850.asp
