Vintage Plastic Multi-Strand Necklace

Hello! I am having a difficult time trying to identify this necklace I found in a batch of jewelry from an estate sale. The majority was fairly standard rhinestone jewelry from the 20s - 50s, but this is unsigned and not something I've come across before. Any ideas of era/composition? The material is kind of grain-y, and separated by brass beads.

It looks like bone to me.
The clasp looks like a repurposed belt buckle.
