Earlier this year I got lucky and found a treated green diamond.
I never thought that would happen, one day
my SO said, with your luck you will probably find another.
I did…
I had a hunch and I was correct, treatment is unknown (until I decide how I will reset, I will wait for GIA) I don’t really care about treatments as it’s beautiful but it does peak my curiousity, as a collector.
For some background I did have a jeweler test it, an RI test was also performed to rule out moissanite and there also appears to be some rough under one of the prongs under a microscope. He estimated it to be around .40.
It’s a light sage green color, in sunlight it’s a bit bluish green (it has a blue-green fluorescence) I’ve never had a diamond with natural green fluorescence so I’m not sure how that looks (only blue, white and yellow).

How does one usually set smaller diamonds? I don’t really want a cocktail ring. I was thinking something celestial or maybe a toi et moi with a small step cut. I’m certain I want to set in rose gold and platinum.
I would love to see any ideas on how others have set smaller stones.

Please excuse my hands it was a very cold morning and my skin does not take well to cold weather.

I’ve become interested in these types of rings for small diamonds. You could use some of the side stones as accents. Would look amazing in rose gold.

Oooh I hadn’t thought of that idea those are very nice examples. I may need to look for side stones.
I especially love the first and 2nd pictures! Thank you so much for your suggestions!

I do like that signet style that is beautiful.

I love these!

There are so many signet rings on eBay and Etsy. It would not be hard to find one and set a small gem or cluster of gems into it. The one small challenge is making sure the face of the signet is deep enough for the gem to be flush set like that.

You’re right, I thought about that. Finding one in rose gold will be even more of a task.

That’s why I figure might as well go custom.
I originally thought about something like these. The first pic is just as an inspiration for 1 ring.
If all else fails and I can’t decide the toi et moi is the last resort, just on a much much smaller scale.
