Video from DK of my half-bezel three stone

Hi all,

Just got a video from DK of my completed ring and I love it! However are my eyes playing tricks on my or are there a couple notches in the bezels when you view it from the side? I'm also having trouble telling if it's a matte finish, it still looks pretty shiny to me.

Anything else I should call out before he ships? Thanks!

In which bezels do you see notches? It looks very matte/satin on the shank in all views but slightly shiny on the basket/bezel sides which might be how that finish reflects in that lighting setup

I circled the spots in red. I also realize this is blown up way larger than life so perhaps they wouldn't be visible in person. I also put black lines on the spots I think might be too shiny.

I see the notches, but I think IRL they won't be noticeable. Remember that these are GIANT compared to how small it will be IRL. I don't think it looks shiny, I think it's just reflecting. The video looks like matte finish to my eyes.

Go ahead and ask them about the notches, I think you can trust them to tell you if they are eye visible. If they are they will fix them asap.
 
Oooh la la oui oui! (i've been listening to the radio all the time these days) this ring is beautiful, unique and I look forward to hand shots when you get it.. great design!

i see what you are saying.
i think the areas that you have spotted and outlined with black are reflections of the light and surrounding areas, and woudl not be an issue.

the areas of red circles are, i feel, congruent... i see those notches in all of the 3 half bezels, perhaps a design feature of the half bezel.

And, yes, you should be able to ask them about you see on the video.

Yes - definitely ask any questions now.
The notches are apparent in the CAD as where the basket ends and the semi bezel starts. The notches would only bug me if they were not consistent in the ring throughout the three stones .
I see what you are pointing out about the shine of the matte finish, it does look almost like it’s not as matte in those spots, but could be a trick of the eye/camera.
One thing I have noticed on a few projects with DK
If I have any concerns or questions on the video, I’ve been told that these videos are taken before the final inspection/cleaning/polish. For whatever that’s worth.
 
I really love the profile "V"s...very elegant looking cut-outs. Looks matte to me.

When I saw the blow-up video of my DK ring I thought I noticed something in one area and had it checked. It was nothing. The lighting and the
huge magnification make somethings look prominent when they are really nothing. You can ask about them but ...I personally dont think
they are anything you will notice in person. Sometimes it takes seeing it in person. I love seeing the magnified videos but I think they are a real
nightmare for DK and Amy!

I see it on all of them? Maybe it’s done on purpose? Looks like flower.
 
the areas pointed out by black lines look like a light trick from the reflection

the areas with the red circles, my guess is this is where they bent the metal to hold the stones in place. i don't think it'll be distracting or noticeable in real life.

very pretty and unique setting =)

Gorgeous ring!

Ask them to re-matte the ring - it's a simple procedure and takes almost no time.

The notches are part of the design, and are the angle where the side of the baskets meet the bezels. Personally, I like it.

Great design - well done!

That size view is everything! But yeah I would have the issues you see addressed
 
Thanks for your thoughts everyone! I asked David about both issues and he assured me all was well. I told him to go ahead and ship. However this will be my engagement ring and I kind of want to wait to see it in person until it's official/my partner proposes so hand shots might be a long time coming...
