Video for GOG K/VVS2 Asscher has arrived!

VERY beautiful. Do you already know how you want it set and how you want the color to be perceived? You might ask Jon if he has good examples of previous asscher settings in this size and color. I, personally, would need to have a good idea on the end look when buying this color grade.

What a beauty! Asschers are so stunning and this is a special one. Looking forward to see how you set it.

Thanks!!
I'm trying to be very reserved about getting excited - David is sending it out so I can get a first hand look.
He said it does not have light leakage and is very lively. [it is actually the 1.23 K VVS2, not the 1.21 K VVS2. The 1.21K is still available].

Until I saw the video - and the color - I thought I would consider a colored stone halo to coordinate nicely with a K, but now I don't know.

I am in love with Diamond Seeker's Asscher with Beaudry setting. To me that is the ultimate setting for an Asscher.
Gosh, I just don't know what to do.
I think I may be getting excited about this despite my best efforts.
...and it's so much fun to share with you all in the process.

Aww, you are so sweet! I truly do love my asscher in that setting! I do love asschers in halos in general. The round cuts really are a great contrast to the step cut and act as a frame for the asscher! I think this asscher is gorgeous! I think the key will be setting it to best enhance the color of the stone. Not sure but maybe a rose gold halo with platinum shank, etc? I think it will be great, you just have to think how best to set it! You could certainly have someone make a setting like mine, too!

DS,
You probably can't even guess how many times I've looked at your Asscher in the past few days : )

I've finally been around PS long enough to want to do something extraordinary. Your setting is a one-of-kind confection that belongs to you...
Perhaps you will help me figure out my own one-of-a-kind. I love the idea of rose gold and platinum.
Off to send the bank wire...and then to start dreaming up settings.
:appl: :appl: :appl:

It will be great fun thinking of settings, and I will love participating!!! :appl: I agree that it is special to have a one-of-a-kind! I just happened upon mine, but I do know it was custom and not a regular part of the line. I think the ring design was made with kite diamonds originally, but I love the pink kite sapphires in rose gold! I am sure you can come up with something wonderful!

It IS awesome... lovely.. bright.. beautiful.. wish it were mine!

I'm no expert but that looks beautiful and just like what Tekate said, "I wish it were mine", too! :appl:

To my untrained eyes, it looks like it faces up white. Would have never known it was a K color just from the video...very impressive.

Wow that is a beautiful stone. :lickout:

That is stunning! I can't wait to see it set!

I'll start a thread with photos when it arrives =)

That is a gorgeous diamond! I think you'll be surprised at the color, if it's anything like my current K EC.
I'm looking forward to your thoughts when you receive it!

Thanks, woofmama! If it's anything like yours I'll be thrilled.

It looks like a stunning stone! Can't wait to see what you choose in terms of a setting. Beautiful!

Thank you!
everyone, for being so supportive!

WoW!!!!

That is an amazing stone. Te patterning ( the beauty of the step cut), the corners. windmills are all YUMMY!!!! I love warmer colour from the profile view, but you will be seeing the diamond in the setting in a face up view, which to me will be fairly white.

Cant wait to see how this project turns out for you. :appl: :appl: :appl:

I totally agree with your comment about DS beaudry ring- the sapphires, detail.....
AsscherHalo ring is also one of my faves!

Holy Cow BatJimmi! That is breathtakingly lovely!! Can't wait to see what you do with it! Congratulations on your prize!! :appl:

 Sandy, you made me laugh.
I do feel as though it's a prize. I've been looking for an Asscher for the longest time and can't quite believe I got this lucky.
It had been up on the website for a while and I guess the color & perhaps culet made it a no-no for other seekers. My other theory is that it was making itself invisible until I showed up =)

Batjimmi. love it.

I LOVE IT! How exciting!

The diamond arrived today and I'm very happy with it!

It has a lot of personality, performs very well in all lighting situations and picks up the colors around it. It will be fun to photograph.
As I said before I saw it in person: it was everything I wanted in an Asscher, but the K-color I wasn't so sure about. I've included a photo of my F and the K together showing that it's not an issue.
No glam shots yet, but a few quick ones for now.

With my F color RB:

Not sure yet if this stone belongs in a plain or fancy setting!
but I did see some Very Cool Fancies today =)
yea :appl:

Gahhhhh! It's gorgeous! We need to start a show me your K step cut thread! Step cuts rock in K color! And all colors of course but there has been a run on K EC's and asschers for last two years!

The patterning on that diamond is perfect. It would look amazing in a Sholdt semi bezel. Not that I'm biased or anything :cheeky:

thanks, Woofmama!
I'm following your thread about deciding on your new stone.

I've fallen in love with a few K's since being on PS and then chickened out. The more I know the more I like them. I mean I always liked them, but I'm feeling more confident about liking them.

If you don't start the K thread, I will... after I've taken a photo to post : )
No sun here to get glam shots either.

So gorgeous!!!! I am so glad you like it!!!

Thanks, DS.
I think you may recall who suggested many months ago that I talk to GOG... =)

I had fun at the local jewelers today. They had 2 settings that were interesting as templates/inspiration:photo_2_72.jpgphoto_1_71.jpg

VOTING FOR THE PLAIN!! I love it. Such clear beautiful steps. Nothing should compete with that beauty.

Oh, love the second setting for an asscher! So much like mine, so no wonder I like it! (The first one has kites, but I like everything else about the second one better!)

(Oh, and yes, I am glad you finally made your way to GOG!!!)

Wow! It is beautiful. I love it! I also like the second setting but would probably prefer a plain setting. Something that really allows that diamond to shine. I do like the second setting though I would probably want to change the prongs or bezel it so those cut corners were more obvious. The red stone looks like it could be square. I'm probably making no sense.

Hi Jimmianne!

I've been biting my tongue from responding in this thread but now that you've seen it! :appl:

Glad you love it. This was a real beaut and more than anything we are happy that YOU are happy, especially David.

Warm regards,
Rhino
