Video camera recommendations?

Anyone have any video camera recommendations? My old one is no longer functioning and Best Buy says it''s a lost cause. I''m thinking I want something HD, but I really have no clue what to look for beyond that. Budget is $700 The old one broke while using it for work so they''re paying to replace it. I''m actually pretty excited that it broke since it was from 2001 and now we''ll have a new high tech one for when the baby''s here without having to actually spend any money.

I know its way less than your budget, but so far we like it and its fun to play with. It''s also really small, we had to buy a regular digital camera case for it, so it should fit nicely in the diaper bag.
