Locket
-18k
-18.5g
-Approximately 2.24” (57mm) long with bail
-35mm wide and 14-15mm thick
-Has been meticulously, tested with both acid and XRF (X-ray fluorescence).
-A newer 14k bail was recently added and is lighter in color than locket but nicely matches the gold of the star emblem. There is no glass but one metal rim remains. On the inside, there is a small lead solder as well as a wire holding the star in place. Lead solder has been commonly used to avoid damaging more delicate items such as pearls as it requires lower heat than gold solder. The star wiggles slightly but is secure. Some scratches and wear commensurate with age.
Chain
A lovely antique - circa 1900 - French chain with a larger bolt ring.
18k, French hallmarks
weighs 7.7 grams
18.5 inches long,
filigree links are 3.6 mm wide
Bolt ring is 10mm diameter
Selling because I don't wear chains frequently and if I do it is my dad's 22k chain.
