I have purchased a diamond from one of the vendors on this site. The stats are:

BR SI1 G 1.511 7.47-7.48x4.53
depth 60.6%
table 55%
girdle .7-1.2
cutlet PT
crown angle 34.8
pavillion angle 40.8
AGS 0 ideal/ideal/ideal
fluorscence N

The diamond is gorgeous! Lots of sparkle. Scored 9.7 ISEE2, HCA 1.3 excellent.

I have 30 day money back and brought in to local jeweler. He agreed that it was great diamond, but thought the girdle was too thin. Had some other diamonds...but not as great scoring. Although other diamonds seem as brilliant in store lighting...don't feel comfortable that they would be as brilliant in other lights.

My question is:

. is .7-1.2 girdle too thin?

If it is, and I look at other diamonds, what is lowest ISEE2 score I should consider? I realize it's not all about numbers, however, I feel that if the numbers are right, it will be as good a performer in all lighting conditions.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!!

PS price was 10,565. Seems like a great deal.

About the girdle... you may want to read Bob's post (LINK)

And the Isee2 score... who knows? that score has more than one component - it would matter where the stone gets "hit". However, around PS I believe only GoodOldGold uses the machine and Jonathan stops at 8.5 (as far as I remember from his older posts, which you may what to investigate). I don't think there is any stone currently posted with an ISee2 score and having it less than 9. That, from a seller clearly focused on beating all those cut standards and using all available grading toys.

Isee2 seems to be a tool of presenting degrees of perfection in H&A stones rather than shifting through yards of database listings - so I have yet to see what a borderline Isee2 scorer looks like posted

No, unless there are somehow very thin parts that aren't obvious from looking at the measurements. If not, I suspect an ulterior motive from someone who's not making a sale. (In theory at least a stone with a serious girdle problem wouldn't get AGS Ideal.)

The girdle could be near half that thickness for GIA to consider it to be too thin.
