Hello all,
I was thinking to get the Vera Wang LOVE Collection 2 CT. T.W. Diamond Frame Split Shank Engagement Ring in 14K White Gold from Zales for my 5 year anniversary. The characteristics of the ring are the following:
Stone Type Diamond
Stone Shape Round
Diamond Total Weight (CT. T.W.) 2
Center Stone T.W. 1
Diamond Color H - I
Diamond Clarity SI2 - I1
Gold Karat 14K
Standard Ring Size 6.5
Lifetime Diamond Commitment Yes
Metal Color White
Metal Type Gold
Stone Color White
Price $9500

I do not know anything about diamonds and not sure if it is ok to buy a ring that is not certified for that price! I love the ring but I am concerned about spending so much money in something that may not be worth it. I appreciate all your help :)

Not worth it. What's the ring look like? I'm sure there are similar rings out there that are a much better value. For one it doesn't mention anything about cut. Cut should be the first thing you're looking at.

No way would I pay that much for that ring in 14kt.

Diamonds are poor quality at SI2-I1, and if not certified, that is probably optimistic. We can absolutely help you replicate that ring with a better quality setting and a far better quality diamond. Niel has already posted one option and there are many designers that make a setting like that. You would be overpaying for what you'd get with that ring. Please let people here help you find a good setting and diamond to go in it!

Gabriel and Co has many other halo settings besides the one Niel posted and Good Old Gold carries them.

Here are more diamonds that you could choose from (all GIA or AGS graded):
