I finally got my veil yesterday (I ordered it off of ebay) and I love it. It needs just a little bit of super glue so that the tulle covers the clear comb completely, but for $13 I''m very impressed. When I tried it on with my dress, though, it doesn''t exactly match. The tulle is whiter than the dress even though according to Demetrios my dress is white. It''s not a bright white, but I wouldn''t call it diamond white or ivory either. I can''t tell how big of a deal the color difference is, but I did take some pictures that I hope to post later tonight. Another thing is that the edging on the veil is silver, but compared to my dress it doesn''t quite match either. I guess the "silver" embroidery on my dress is really more of a white gold color. You know, the color it is if you don''t have it plated. It''s practically silver, but if you hold it up to silver you can tell the difference.

Other than all that, I like the veil. I guess no one can really tell me if it looks bad until I post the pictures, but how important do you think it is that your veil is a perfect match?

Robbie, since the dress and the veil are different fabrics I don''t think they would every match *exactly*. Is the different enough to bother you? Can anyone else see a difference? Maybe look at the dress and veil together in some different lighting too.

That''s part of the problem actually. I don''t really have anyone else to show it to. FI can''t see it and I really only have one acquaintance/friend not from work and I''d feel a little weird asking her to come look. It also doesn''t help that the lighting in our place isn''t great and it''s now dark when I get home from work.

After I''d had it on for a little while I really didn''t notice the difference, but I wonder if everyone else will be able to see it. Do most people have some difference between the color of their veil and the color of their dress?

Well, don''t forget that the veil and dress will be on you, The veil is bound to look different and pick up different colors once it''s ''live''.

I highly doubt anyone will notice that the dress and veil are not exactly the same. All they''ll notice is that the veil echos the design theme of the dress which will be enough to make it looking like a matched set!

Here''s a far away shot of the dress and the veil.

Here''s a closeup. I''m soooo whitening my teeth before the wedding.

It looks good to me. I don''t notice it not matching.

See! It looks lovely!

i think it looks great!

I can''t tell in the pics. I honestly don''t think anyone will notice. But, if it bothers you can yo uask the ebay seller if you can exchange for a diamond whiteveil?

Oh my gosh. You look adorable. It looks totally fine!

I don''t notice anything that suggests your veil doesn''t match. It''s lovely!

Awe, thanks everyone. I feel a lot better

I don''t notice a color difference either. I bet that the sheerness of the veil masks any color differences there might be ~ especially from a distance when you''re not scrutinizing it.

I think it looks beautiful... And you''re so lovely!

Oh my gosh how cute are you??? I love this pic. You are going to make such a beautiful bride! I don''t notice any color differences at all, everything looks great.

Awe thanks everyone! It''s always good to hear compliments, especially when your dress is on a bit crooked

(or perhaps it''s just the way I''m standing...). Anyone have any suggestions on what to do with my hands when I''m posing for pictures? I have so many homecoming/prom pics where I''m doing exactly what I''m doing in these pics or making fists.

Ah!!! Robbie you look lovely! And I don't notice anything wrong with your veil...I don't think it has to be too matchy matchy! Congrats!

Thanks Rose!

I think it looks fine. The transparency masks any tonal difference. You look so cute! My only suggestion is to make sure you are standing ramrod-straight when you have your pictures taken, and maybe even lift your ribcage and your chin a little. That will make your arms fall loosely to your sides, in stead of a bit ''in front''.

How are you going to wear your hair, btw?

Your bouquet should fix this issue on your wedding day...

Thanks luvinlife, and thanks Galateia and Rose for the suggestions. I''ll be wearing my hair in some type of half up style I think. I would like to wear it all down, but I don''t have faith that my hair will cooperate. It has a mind of its own and unless there''s a whole lot of hairspray in it, it does what it wants and I don''t think I''d like it with so much product in it if it was all down. Plus, half up was always my favorite hairstyle from Proms and Homecomings.

Robbie--You look great and I think the veil looks lovely. You definitely can''t tell any difference between the colors in the pictures.

On the hand thing, standing up really straight will help. It looks like you are rounding your shoulders some so your arms come forward rather than hanging at your side. Your bouquet will definitely give you something to hold but still putting your shoulders back a bit more will be give you better pictures. I have similar posture issues and I actually practiced standing correctly and set my camera on self-timer so I could get the posture right. It''ll make a big difference.

it looks cute together!! you can''t even tell!!!

about the standing/posing thing: your photographer will most likely tell you how to stand, and yes, you will have your flowers to hold.... or your man!!!

Thanks IslandDreams and Rosebud.

. That's a good idea about practicing w/ the camera on the timer. That's how I took the pictures I posted. My posture is awful.

ETA: In an unrelated topic, why does it show up that this thread was started by no one???

I think they''re beautiful together and you look adorable!

Awe, thanks!

You look so pretty! I think the dress and veil look great together (I don''t notice a difference in color at all in your pictures)! I''ll echo what others have said...I think the sheerness of the veil masks any slight variation in color.
