Hello everyone!

I wanted to know if any of you guys have booked your wedding and or reception in Vegas.

We are interested in getting married there but there are so many choices to choose from! We don''t even know where to start! We would like something small and sweet but I know that my family wants a small reception. I have been searching around but some of the venues look a little weird.

Can you please tell me your experiences?

Thanks!

I am 98% sure I''m having a Vegas wedding (spring or fall ''10). Im not engaged (yet) but will be soon and have been looking at sites.

vegas.com
nwavacations.com

The NWA one is kinda cool... shows you packages and prices....

Thanks! I am totally gonna check that out!

We want something very small but my mom keeps telling me that we should have a small reception for cake or something. I don''t want to be tacky and no have something for my guests. We are planning to get married winter of this year or early next year, no set date yet.

January 9, 2010, Mandalay Bay. We''re going to some restaurant (haven''t figured out which one yet) afterward for dinner. I''m going to send in the contracts and stuff tomorrow I believe. By Friday at the latest.

That''s awsome Freke! Btw, I love your shoes! Great job! So beautiful and creative!

Awww thank you!!! I''m really excited to wear them!

Which hotels/chapels are you thinking about? I''ve spent a LOT of time researching them, and we viewed a few when we were in Vegas last month (the day before he proposed, lol). And what are you looking for from a venue?

A lot of posters have gotten married in Vegas, or lived there for a while. LaurenThePartier got married at Bellagio, and other posters have gotten married at some of the other hotels.

Got to go to class!

Hi mtjoya,

I don''t post here much and am mainly a lurker but wanted to post when I saw this! I just got married (in Dec) in Las Vegas! We were married at Caesar''s Palace and it really was fabulous!

So, without elaborating too much on me.... I would love, love, LOVE to help out and be of service!
For reference, we had approx 12 guests and had a ''rehearsal'' dinner (night before celebration, no rehearsal at all!) and a very small reception (small luncheon, more like) following the ceremony.

Which venues looked weird to you? Are you hoping for more formal or a different sort of mood?

Thanks, elizabethmimi!

I am glad that you had fun on your wedding day in Vegas! Well, I am thinking of keeping it simple and maybe go with one of the hotels on the strip. We probably don''t want to spend more than 1,500 on the wedding + reception. I think that we are probably going to have 30 people there.

I don''t even know where to start. My BF went to a ceasear''s wedding and loved it! I don''t want to spend too much $$ but I will have to see what I have to work with.

So, where did you have your lunch at?

Oh, I thought that the chapels that are off the strip looked a little seedy.

OK, so I had the Simplicita package and chose the garden (@ Caesar's the garden is $500 more than in a chapel) so my package was $2500 (chose this because it included 1 night free=honeymoon suite and a few other perks I wanted..) But, I am thinking your price is range is definitely doable.

Here is a Caesar's Palace package I just found ... go here
http://www.caesarspalace.com/weddings/caesars-palace/clv-packages-il-bacio.html
Here are a few more.... (just for ideas!)

Looks like for only a few hundred $$ more you get a little more bang for your buck at Paris
http://www.parislasvegas.com/weddings/paris-las-vegas/plv-packages-champagne.html

Or at the Venetian get married on a bridge!
http://www.venetian.com/Pages.aspx?id=214
(this is a little above your price range)

So, those are just a few ideas?

We ate at Circo in the Bellagio for the rehearsal dinner and it was fabulous. Really great service and the setting was beautiful!
For the reception lunch we got a private room at Stratosphere's Top of the World. It really over exceeded my expectations and was the best decision I thought I made on the trip! It was wonderful! We had a very large private room overlooking the strip with private waiters and our own bar/drink area. It was amazing!

Hopefully this helps!

ETA: I didn't copy the links right... I am hoping copying & pasting does the trick. Sorry about that.

Oh, your such a sweetheart! Thanks for posting the links! I love everything!

So, about your lunch, that sounds great! If you don''t mind me asking how much did you pay for all of that? It sounds very nice. Thx.

Hey mtjoya,
Sorry I took so long... I didnt see this!

Ok, so like I said the ceremony was $2500.
Dinner at Circo was approx $1100
Lunch at Stratosphere was approx $3000 (drinks, dinner (4 course), private room, private bathroom, etc)

Hope this helps! I will try and post pictures tonight when I am off work!
1.gif

Also, for reference here is the Top of the World website.... go here and if you are interested I can give you more contact info for who i dealt with and also I am not sure if $3k is the exact amount... It could have been around 2, but since my parents paid the deposit (which I believe was $350--that was to hold the room) they just paid the remaining balance. Ill talk to them tonight and double check, after I submitted that I realized 3 sounded a little high.

We just went to a wedding at the Flamingo. It was outside in a garden gazebo. Really pretty. MsFlutter had an AMAZING vegas wedding. Search her threads.

MsFlutter had hers at Mandalay Bay (I''ve been picking her brain!) I hope some other PSers chime in here for you!!!

To those who got married in Vegas - would you mind posting pictures of your ceremony if you have them on your computer? I have been looking at ceremony sites, and the locations look really pretty...

But I would love to see what they look like from an unbiased source!

Wow! thx so much ladies for all your input!

Elisabethmimi thx for all the info. I will defintely check it out! Plz post pics if you can! I would LOVE to see them.

I go to the websites and they all look so pretty! But, your right about seeing "real" weddings in action and getting a feel for the location and details etc.

I was married at the Flamingo on 4/12...we loved it so much, and really appreciated the value. Our ceremony cost 1/3 to a 1/5 of what it would have been at the other hotels, and the garden was stunning.
We had dinner for 12 at Rao''s in Caesar''s Palace after.
We thought a lot about having the wedding there, but I did not find the CP wedding chapel to be at all flexible. Sorta odd because Flamingo and CP are the same company, but different attitudes.

I should say we did not stay or eat at Flamingo, so I don''t know a lot about the rest of the place, but we loved the wedding chapel, which I learned about right here on Pricescope. I will also say the Flamingo website does not do the place justice, it is much prettier in person.

Congrats MTJoya! My boyfriend and I are also getting married in Vegas and we''ve decided (okay, that''s not true - I''VE decided. He''s basically a "tell me what day it is and I''ll be there" type of guy!) on the Flamingo. Mainly because it''s one of the few places that has PRETTY outdoor venues and I like that it''s an older hotel with "history" (Bugsy Siegel! C''mon, how cool is that?) Also, the "GO Rooms" look SUPER cool and the prices are great. I''m scouring the threads on here as well for others who got married there - found one with pics by Florida Girl (got married there in 2007 and loved it) Keep us updated on your plans!!

Oh, NewsySuzy, I didn''t read this post before I wrote mine. Cool! Love to hear all about it - I will check out your blog. I DO know that one of the restaurants at the Flamingo was very recently renovated (the Italian one - they still have some links with the old name on their website - it''s now called Voga) Looks very chic. I don''t think that was done when you were there......

- Jodie -

I''ll be getting married on 11 Oct 2009 at Bouchon at the Venetian. We''re going to have both the ceremony and reception in the courtyard of the restaurant.

Our budget is a little higher than yours, but unfortunately so is our guest list.
20.gif
My FMIL wanted to invite a number of people who (she was sure) wouldn''t come, and some of them have already booked flights. We''ll probably spend around $10,000 on the ceremony/reception combo, unless the guest list balloons even more. (I''m making it sound as though I don''t want these people there, and that''s not really true - I''m glad they''re coming. But my poor budget...)

As for chapels off the strip being tacky, I''ve heard good things about Little Chapel of the Flowers, and when I was still planning on a chapel ceremony, I was thinking of booking there. Paris was also high on my list. Julabean got married at the Paris this past April, and there''s a thread around of her wedding stuff.

You might also look for LaurenthePartier''s wedding thread, since she was married at the Bellagio.

Yay, Vegas!

I saw on the vegas site (and then the Hilton site) there is a very basic wedding package at the Las Vegas Hilton for $299, and another in the $500 range. They have several more with higher prices as well. Hope this helps!

(this is a little above your price range)

My brother and SIL just got married at the Venetian on the bridge. They had 12 guests and it was just lovely. We were on display though so you have to want the attention! Their package was a little above your price range but it included just about everything. After the ceremony, we had a small reception in one of their private suites. The staff at the Venetian were amazing and the food was excellent! Vegas is a fun place to get married -- you''ve got a lot of great options! Good luck!

Hey! I''ve been looking into all the wedding packages in Vegas too :) I think the Flamingo and the Hilton are the best one''s for your budget. My budget is pretty close to yours, I''m probably going to spend around $2500 and we''re having about 30 people also. I''m not sure that we''d be able to have a ceremony and reception for our budget. I''m almost thinking about having the ceremony, then like an hor''dourve reception with a cake in like a suite or something. And then later on that night have a dinner somewhere, and let people know they are invited but they will have to pay for their dinner. Do you think it''s too cheap or rude to tell people they have to pay for their own dinner? I just don''t think we can afford to pay for everyone to have a nice dinner.

What have you found out about the different locations and packages? When is your wedding? Mine isn''t until next year, so we have a little while to plan :)

Hey ladies!

Thank you all for your replys! I have been looking around and everything is so BEAUTIFUL! I was checking this chapel out where all the other chapels are at. This is the linky...

http://www.702wedding.com/

Their prices seem pretty good. But, I am searching for reviews on them. I was also looking at the Flamingo and I got interested in this package where you release 50 butterflies, that sounds sooo cute!

I originally wanted 30 people at the most, BUT my family is starting to put their .02 and you know how that goes! My mom is very excited BUT wants to invite everyone and their mom! So, I am not so sure. I know that I am the one that is getting married here, but you know how that goes when everyone is trying to suggest many things. I really want something initimate and special.
12.gif

My FI is freaking too because he was like I told 1 person at work and then left to lunch. When I came back ALL the office knew and said that they were going even though they probably weren''t going to be invited! lol...

My Fi is one of those guys that is like pick somewhere that has a lot of flowers and looks nice. LOL..I basically am the one deciding!
11.gif
So, I understand mausketeer how it is. My FI is very flexible and is happy with anything that I choose as long as it is nice. LOL He loved the Wynn but that is going to be something that won''t be considered because its alot of $$ for the location that we want!

Oooh that''s pretty! Where is it again? I''m GLAD I''m the one in charge - I wouldn''t trust him to make a decision like that! (I have to tell him when to buy CAT food for crying out loud or the poor thing would starve - LOL). He has veto power over things he really doesn''t like but we''re basically on the same page like you guys......

I''m also wanted to do the whole "come to our wedding and then WE''RE all going out to dinner afterwards" (IE: buy your own dinner) thing but I couldn''t figure out how to WORD it in a way that didn''t sound weird so we are having a "real" reception (where we pay).

Lol...how cute!

Seriously, I show him the options and he will be like yay! cool...and then says whatever you want, honey. Sometimes, he will says whatever you want as long as it''s nice, I trust your judgement. I think this is cool, but sometimes I am so undecisive and will ask him to just CHOOSE! lol...

Oh, that pic is the terrace at the Wynn! It''s so beautiful. It is 1500 PLUS the package you will pick. I know what you mean when you say the buy your own dinner part. I would LOVE to invite as many people as I can BUT we are saving for a house so it''s kinda hard.

I really don''t want it to be that much because I want it small & sweet. I think that the horsdouves & cake is a great idea. I really wanted this BUT then again my family is like no BUFFET!!!! I just give them the
20.gif
look and feel bad cuz they keep on saying, "You only get married once." It should be special...blah blah! So, I am caught in the middle.

I don''t think that it''s cheap or rude to tell ppl to pay for their own food because you asked them to join you and your FI to your wedding and a nice get together but if they want, they can join you but pay for your own food.

Let me know how it goes! It sounds all exciting and awesome!

Right now, I have my eye on the Flamingo and a chapel off strip that is called Vegas Weddings. We don''t have a set date. I would like 09/09/09 or the week before xmas, or in March 2010. So we just have to decide!
