Vatche settings

I am looking into getting a 3 stone ring with baguette sides. My girlfriend really likes the Vatche setting, but I think that the extra cost of that setting is better invested in the center stone. Has anyone seen settings similar to the Vatche 3-stone (side baguettes) or has anyone had this setting custom made? Thanks.

If you go to "Show me the Ring" on the other Diamond Pricing & Grading forum, you can see a digital of my 3 stone Vatche ring w/ baguette sides. I believe it is on page 7 of the eye candy folder.

It's a lovely design w/ great craftsmanship. It is a true shame about the markup that retailers much charge (dictated by Vatche). You may be able to find a similar setting or have one similar made by a master benchman.

What size are you thinking for your center stone?

1-1.25 ct center. My girlfriend likes square cuts, but has only seen a radiant and asscher up close. A local HoF dealer is bringing in a dream diamond for her to see, but I expect a huge markup there. We may be planning a trip to NY in September and in that case will visit Jonathon so she can see a Flander, Regent, etc.

Does the Vatche 3 stone w/ bag accomodate a squared off stone?

Also, with smaller sides & head set in platinum, making the ring may not save you that much money. I'd price both out, as well as look at other settings w/ baguette sides. There are a few to choose from.

Good luck. And, again, I can vouch for the exemplary design & construction of the Vatche setting. Personally, I found it to be the most classy & traditional of many I looked at.

According to the dealer where we saw the Vatche setting, it can hold modified square brilliant cuts. Has anyone seen or heard different?
