My ring finger (aren''t they all!) measured 5 3/4 and I''ve had my ring sized down from 6 1/4 to that. It seemed as though the center diamond looks larger, with the better fit band. Initially it was very comfortable, only after a month it feels really loose again. I''m tempted to get it sized down at least to 5 1/2 in part because I think it will look better, and because it is still loose.

Here''s the thing, I plan on eventually having a wide wedding band, and MAY wear the engagement ring on my right hand, which is larger. Also, I''ve read on here that some people felt their size went up with the addition of rings to the same finger (if I were to wear them on the same hand).

Thoughts? Ideas? Am I imagining that my stones look bigger as the band gets smaller?

I don''t think you''re imagining it at all! I noticed the same thing when I sized my ring down 1/2 size.

If you''re planning on a wide wedding band, I would definitely leave it bigger. I usually wear 2 bands with my ering and it definitely fits tighter than when I''m just wearing one.

Can you go try on a wide band with your ring to see how it feels? Maybe even buy a cheapie try-out ring to wear around for a few days before you decide to re-size again.

BTW, your ring is gorgeous!

I''d keep it the same size--especially if you are moving it to a larger finger or wearing it with a wide band.

Ditto, the difference is probably noticable to you, but no-one else. And I would never resize my rings in winter, wait until the warmer weather until you decide if it''s a good fit. There is nothing worse than a tight ring, it makes fingers look like sausages.

I agree with advice above. Firstly, do not resize in winter, see if it is still loose in summer and then decide (unless you`re down under at the moment...

). Secondly, if you decide to wear the wedding band together with your e-ring, you might want to get the w-ring in an even slightly larger size too (if you`re going to wear it under your e-ring).

I completely agree. I wouldn''t resize during winter time. I have the same thing with my five stone. It''s a little big on me for nine months of the year, but come July, August and September, it gets very snug on some days and I would never want it to be so tight that I couldn''t wear it. I think 1/8 to 1/4 of a size is fine to allow for summer swelling.

The ladies at GOG suggested that I put some flattened speed bumps in my ring to keep it from spinning during the winter months. Maybe you can think about that too. They can be removed very easily if you ever wanted them taken out.

My finger changes 1/2 size over the winter and my left had is 1/2 size smaller than my right. Wait till spring and decide where you will wear it and if your finger poofs again!

luvmyhalo-I luv your set! Those bands are fantastic.

honey22-you are so right, I don''t want the sausage look.

chiquitapet-I hadn''t realized the band may need to be slightly larger as well, good to know.

gemgirl-the idea that the speedbumps can be both flat, and removed is good to know. I''ve only read about them being round, which I couldn''t imagine them being comfortable. Did you do this?

Thank you so much everyone for your ideas and suggestions. I think I will do as you suggest and leave it till spring/summer and see if is still feeling loose.

#1!

We were having a lot of cold weather (for the area anyway, highs in the low-60s) and my rings felt SO loose. Then we had a heat wave a little over a week ago (highs in the low 90s) and I had a tough time getting my wedding band (a 6 on my 5.75 finger) off! Some people, myself included, have a great change in finger size with temperature change.

I'd never want a ring on the tight size of 'fitting,' because it might be too tight under certain circumstances.

I wear three rings on one finger and they are all the same size, but they do get a little snugger in the summer. My wedding band is think and wide and a size bigger than my ring finger and I can only get one band on with that. My right hand is a full size bigger than my left. I would wait for summer too if you live in
a really humid climate. You definitely will want it to feel secure and not come off without you realizing it. That would be my biggest concern.
