Vancouver BC - loose stones? people to work with?

My b/f and I are looking into how we’ll acquire the ring. Possibly by buying a loose stone. I am sure that there are many reputable companies, but he doesn’t want to do it online. It’s been suggested that we check out the “diamond district” in Vancouver BC.

How does that work? Do you have any recommendations for people to work with in Vancouver?

We might also go to NYC to do this and saw a recent thread on people to work with in NYC.

HI:

A fellow PS member bought a H & A diamond from Britton Jewellers in Vancouver, and was very happy with his ring and the service received.

Have you checked out Vancouver Jewellers/Davidson Designs? They have a B & M shop in West Van., as well as a website showing a list of stones they have access to (brokers as well).

You also might want to check out what is available from NiceIce and Wink Jones--they are in Oregon and Idaho respectively (not SUCH a far drive from Vangroovie) and they are well respected jewellers/brokers/gemologists/ B & M jewellery store owners and PS members. Website access as well.
