I posted this in my previous thread, but I didn''t know how to update a title to tell you about the update, so sorry for the new thread...

ok, I heard back from Judah at Exceldiamonds, who has been very helpful so far. The IS, photo and ASET are under this link:

what do you all think?

I wasn''t planning on pulling the trigger on the purchase quite yet, but I could if this is a great deal. I REALLY like excel''s tiffany setting, so buying a stone from there would be a serious bonus, I am having a hard time deciding whether I will be able to get a better (read bigger with equal or better light performance) stone for the same amount.

I have a bit of wiggle room in the budget, but the jump up to 1.5 carats for a well performing stone is WAY too high as far as I can tell. I wonder if there will be better selections after the Christmas rush is over...

basically, parameters are:
Cut: Awesome (i promised her, jokingly, that I would get her a stone that was bigger and shined just as much as the T&C rings she loves...)
Clarity: Eye-Clean
Color: She couldn''t tell the difference between a D and an H in the store, so I think down to J should be OK.
Size: As large as possible

Stone Budget: 5,700 or so, but wouldn''t mind spending less.

Do you all think I can do better within my budget?

Thanks!

Looks good to me.

Its borderline shallow and shows what could be obstruction in some of the images ( visible darkening due to head shadow or close surroundings blocking the light to the stone). Ask Judah or Barry to check this for you.
