So last I wrote, I was fed up of waiting on my bf to propose - since he had the ring and I couldn't fathom what he was waiting on. The ring's 30 day return window was imminent and I was nervous that I didn't love the setting enough (and since he wouldn't propose, wasn't going to have any time to try it out, think on it, and fall in love with it).... So, we had a big fight - I suggested he return the ring and we start over when he was ready. After quite a bit of discussion (mostly him saying he was ready - he just wanted a "surprise" and didn't feel that could happen since we talked about getting engaged/married every few weeks or so) he agreed and sent it back.
Then he proposed with a twist tie - a very sweet proposal (in the laundry room - which is a bit of a joke because he has said more than once about wanting it to be really special and not someplace boring like the laundry room) - and although it doesn't feel entirely official without a ring -I finally feel "engaged" but haven't really announced to anyone - will do so when I get the ring. So, overall, great news. I'm back to shopping for rings though (I really do want to be the one to pick it out... I just want to be madly in love with the ring and I'm a consummate shopper, so I can't help but be involved). I posted this in Rocky Talk and would love feedback from you ladies too! Since I've waited so long (close to 5 mos since we started serious discussions and ring shopping) - I'm glad to have found some rings I can get quickly instead of waiting 3-10 weeks on something custom.
