I don''t know any more than THAT, but I was surprised. Not *shocked* (since their workmanship and customer service had seemed to take a nosedive...) but surprised. Does anyone know any more?!

wow, very interesting Lynn. it''s too bad really b/c they had some beautiful designs.

I know, I agree. That signature solitaire setting that they made (while they were still at the top of their game) was one of my favorites of ALL time. I wonder what happened???!

That''s a shame, but am not suprised. I did love their signature setting!!

are they forming a new thing here?: http://www.dynamicdiamond.com/ both of the see to e-addy''s are to this domain.

Agreed...the signature setting set the bar high. I have seen others to follow...but none hit the nail as squarely as theirs did. We have a few lucky ps''ers with the beauty, don''t we? The company was an old family one wasn''t it?

Not sure if anyone else experiences this...but in todays world...finding experienced conscience employees to express businesses quality missions are rare. We are remodeling a home...and usually have to go through 5 different hirings to get the job done....getting it done right is another topic.

I realize there are not as many jeweler craftsmen in the training process now. Similar to auto repair men. You can find a technician anywhere...this is one trained to use a computer to diagnose a problem. But a new young mechanic...one who knows the mechanical aspects is rare. There are too many other fields of interest. I wonder as these older jewelers retire...will custom hand made work also be a lost art?

As jewelers close their doors, such as Lockes...that is my first thought. Just slim pickens in the field of craftsmen. I would like to extend my respect for that signature design, in believing the closure was just out of their control.

DKS-just another view

I was surprised when they discontinued their signature setting. No business? I rarely saw customers in there.

Hmmmm, good sleuthing! It''s looks like they have something up their sleeve... well, if so, I hope they get their act together before they open the doors!!!

Okay, this is bizarre. We just got an e-mail from a manager at Lockes, who may be a member of the family that started it, saying that her new e-mail is [email protected].
P.S. Enough of the Trumps already.
