Hey everyone...

took the missus's ring to a jeweller the other day and they used an ultrasonic cleaner on it. worked VERY well.

I've done a few googles and most of the machines mentioned are available in the US however they become very pricey in AUS. Not to mention the whole 110 vs 240v thing.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi it depends what you are after, you can get really basic cheap ones from Ebay and Aldi and places like junk shops etc have them occasionally really cheaply as well. My father has an all singing all dancing one from Australian Jewellers Supplies;

Having said that I don't think the cheap models from AJS are much better than what you can find on Ebay. If you do a search there was a recent thread on here with what people use to clean their jewellery, and there are several really good ones with helpful hints and suggestions. I use dishwashing liquid and a toothbrush and warm water regularly on mine and it is suggested not to put pieces with pave into Ultrasonics because you can shake the diamonds loose literally....

I agree with Arkie, a little bit of dishwashing liquid in warm water and a soft toothbrush works well. :wavey:

hey thanks for the input.

that page you linked to had heaps of them... do you know the model he got?

i've cleaned them manually but it doesn't do as good a job as the jewellers cleaner did.... we have pave but they're set pretty well and to be honest if ones going to shake loose i'd rather it did it in the cleaner than not..
