U-Click Timepieces is a seller/store on Ebay that sells watches, at what seems very aggressive/too good to be true prices.

They always have styles I would love, but they only have a 5-day return policy on only some of their watches-- which seems pretty unforgiving. I mean, if an item is ''lost in shipping''.. 5 days past and it''s too late?

I googled them, and looked on the BBB and nothing came up positive or negative.

Does anyone know anything about them? Anyone ever buy from them?

(Also, I am not sure if this is the right forum, so mods can move this if need be)

Thanks!

I generally go by the "if it''s too good to be true, it is" perspective.

I wouldn''t feel comfortable with any store anywhere on the net that only honors a 5 day return period - that seems excessively short. Shipping alone usually takes 3 days.

The other thing about luxury watches on Ebay or anywhere online is that you likely won''t get a valid warranty to have the watch serviced - and nice watches need servicing every so often. Typically an authorized dealer (usually a jeweler) will have to imprint their name on the warranty card for it to be under warranty by the company (usually a lifetime warranty with expensive watches). You may end up paying more to have it serviced, or risk having it turned down for servicing.

Although the deal may be great, it might be worth it to just go into a jeweler who carries the watch you''d like, then see what their price is.

All of this comes only from my own opinion, and the fact that I looked over an Omega wristwatch sometime back online, until I decided it was better to save and buy it from an authorized shop...still saving though :P

Are you talking about a luxury watch brand? If so, you can see what internet sellers (called the "grey market") are getting and use that price as the base of negotiation with the SA. The authorized dealer should get paid what the "grey market" price is plus some extra. 10% extra worked for me when I bought my JLC. Only buy from an authorized dealer. You can find out who that is from each company's website. But whatever you do, don't buy from an unauthorized dealer. That's my advice.

Imdanny, where do I find that ''grey market price''? In particular, I am looking at Franck Muller Watches.
