i would choose the wf stone hands down. i really like to see mucho rainbow sparkles in my diamonds and those looooong lgf''s in the gog stone are making the arrows (rainbow reflectors

also, the wf diamond has a current ags grading report and of course, the peace of mind of being an aca.

no brainer!

I''d choose the WF stone, it''s got it all. Just gorgeous!!!!

Thanks for the quick replies. The only thing of slight concern with the WF stone is the I color grade. It will be set in white gold. However, it seems like it was an easy choice for both of you. Is there anything in particular that jumped out as to why you chose one over the other? I''m still in learning mode so I like hearing why experts go one way or the other.

I think the WF stone is slightly better cut (both have AGS0 certs which is good), and the GOG stone is two color grades higher. I guess it depends on what your personal preferences are as far as color goes.

Sorry I was writing while you were posting! I have stones from WF and GOG and think they are both wonderful! These two are hard for me to choose from because even though both are very well cut diamonds, the WF stone is slightly better. But my bottom cut-off for color is H. But that is my own personal preference. I like G+H for color and I prefer VS for clarity. Everybody here has different preferences as far as these features go, so it is hard to advise someone else. I''d ideally want a stone that combines the G VS with the cut of the ACA stone.

leapinghorse, what i was trying to say was, i'm really not a fan of the skinny, skinny arrows on the gog stone.
also, the wf stone has a (brand) new ags grading report, so you can be sure that is a great performer. diamonds with old ags reports may not qualify for 'ideal' under the new ags performance based system.
personally, i want that assurance.

It''s all personal preference =). The Good Old Gold one will be brighter, less contrast, and a lil spreadier. The Whiteflash one is deeper, will be a little less bright, a little better contrast (flashes of light, then dark etc.)

These are of course generalizations and it''s hard to really tell if the numbers actually will cause that difference in appearance.

I have no idea what I would pick =/ I think I''d be happy with the smaller, contrast one because that diamond is plenty big for me. However, if you are really really longing for a 2 ct, and just can''t afford it at the moment, then I''d go with GOG. (Though an idealscope/ASET would help with the Good Old Gold one).

You can always call them, and get their opinions. I have bought from both, and have always gotten very honest answers.

I like the WF stone better. It''s definitely a better cut and the arrow pattern is much nicer, unless you have a preference for teeny arrows. I wouldn''t worry too much about the I color. It will face up very white, but in case you do have a problem with it you can return it with WF. If you are still worried about it, you could see if they have any H/SI''s in inventory. Many SI''s are eye clean.
