I just thought I would throw a thread out there dedicated to twins. I am an identical twin and my sister is my best friend in the entire world. I am not even sure that words can express the bond between twins. I would love anybody who has twins, or is a twin to post pictures and stories!

I actually just got engaged 2 months ago and now am coming to the reality that I am going to have to be a wife and be apart from my sister. I am not sure how I am going to cope. We have spent our whole lives side by side and have shared the same room even to this day (24 years), have been in all the same classes in school right up to grade 12. We haven''t been apart. It will be interesting to see how life unfolds. I might have to kidnap her and have her move out with me. My fiance already knows he is in for double trouble.

So anybody with any stories or experiences or heck even advice, I would love to hear it.

Here is a picture of me and my sister when we were only one.

You are both very beautiful young ladies and what a great idea for a thread!

Happy Holidays Miss Jaxon

Missjaxon, you and your sister will just have to buy houses on the same street one day! I think having a very close and lasting bond with another person--be it a sibling, spouse, friend etc--is something special that shouldn''t be ignored or taken lightly! If your FI is okay with "sharing you" with your sister, which he should be really, then go ahead and stay really close! Just make sure you make a little room in your heart for him too

I love pictures and stories about twins, I hope more people pop in here to share!

We just had twins last Friday, and so far they are amazing. We are almost positive they are fraternal because of how different they look, but weirder things have happened so we are withholding the final judgement until Dexter gains some weight. It's hard to tell because one twin is considerably bigger than the other for right now. So not a lot of experience, but so far so fun!

Aww, they are so precious Neat! Congratulations!! What handsome little men you have. It will be fun to find out if they are identical or not. I have quite a few sets of fraternal twins in my family (both sides), but as everyone knows identical twins are just an unexplained occurrence. We really do feel like we are half of one and feel complete when we are together. I couldn''t imagine my life without my sister. I can''t wait to see more pictures of those gorgeous boys! Happy Holidays to you and your new family! :)

Thank you Lorelei! Happy Holidays to you too!!

Dreamer, that sounds like a perfect plan! haha My fiance is more then accepting of me and my twin. He supports us incredibly and in fact has become really good friends with my sister. He is like another brother to her. I am sure he will have no problem accommodating my need to be with my sister throughout our life. And I have tons of my room in my heart for him. It feels wonderful to have him understand just how important she is to me. I guess you can say he "gets us". I couldn''t be more blessed.

Any other twins or parents of? I would love to hear from you all!

congrats neatfreak, your boys are gorgeous.

not helping my broodiness here

Mother of 4 month old twin fraternal boys. Loving it so far! The look they give each other already shows they will have a life long bond. It warms my heart. I''ve posted this pic in other places, but it''s worth it...

awwww they are precious jas!! there definitely is "twinspeak" and sometimes you don''t need any words at all. My mom said before we could talk we would mumble to eachother and it was like we had our own language. It sure is tons of fun being a twin.

My cousins are twins. Growing up, I couldn't tell them apart. Until one got braces. One of them went on to have twins. I think twins are so cool. The bond they have is very much like what you have with your twin.

There has been a twin baby boom on PS. I think we have 4 sets of twins? Could be more, hard to keep track.

Love this thread, so fun seeing all the pics!!!

I''m a twin! I''ll add some pics later that I''ve posted on here before. My sister and I are fraternal twins.

Here''s one of us in Costa Rica in March. I''m on the left.

Thanks for posting your pic thing2of2! You can definitely tell you are sisters! :) Feel free to share any stories or advise. We would love to hear it all. :)

My little brothers are twins! They are fraternal, five years old, and couldn't be anymore different! The one with brown hair, William, was the smaller and lighter twin at birth, by two inches and 1.5 pounds, now he is three inches taller than his brother and has about 15 pounds on him, they are so different!

very diff personalities also, i think you can all tell who is the trouble maker!

Oh how fantastic to see all these beautiful twins!
I am recruiting twins in the southern CA area for our hypertension genetic study, anyone interested in participating?

My oldest daughters (8 years old) are identical twins. My whole pregnancy they told me they were fraternal, and it wasn''t until they were 6 weeks old that we found out they are identical. Identical in looks maybe, but they couldn''t be more different! They are mirror twins, ones left handed, one is right handed, one a total tomboy, the other all girly-girl, one very outgoing, one painfully shy. They share a room still even though we have an empty bedroom (I figured eventually they may want their own space). The outgoing tomboy one has been wanting her own room for about 2 months, she hangs out a lot in the guestroom reading, playing, etc. until it''s actually time to go to sleep, but the shy one is very upset, she doesn''t want to be by herself. We''re still working on it, I may have my 4 year old trade and give her room to the twin that wants her own room and have the other twin and my 4 year old share...my 4 year old doesn''t want a room by herself either.

However, there is a bond between the 2 of them like nothing I have ever seen. They finish each other''s sentences, they are fiercly defensive of each other, they don''t fight, nothing comes between them. They have 2 other siblings, and still they have a bond that can not be explained. They worry about each other when they aren''t together, they really love to just be together, doing nothing. It''s amazing to watch and I hope it continues the older they get.

My sisters are identical twins and are very close--they are graduating college this year. It''s really neat to see the bond that they share with each other. They wear their hair differently, but they still look a lot alike:

This really sounds like my sister and I. For the longest time growing up I was a tom-boy and my sister would pin me down to french braid my hair. Although we never desired to be apart from each other and sadly at 24 years of age we still share a room! It is a loft style, but the same room none the less. We honestly feel like we are half of one heart. Growing up I never thought of myself as singular, I always was concerned about Jae as much as I was about myself (and still am). It is as if we function as a unit. We can tell each others thoughts without saying a word and we also finish each others sentences. It really is like being born with a best friend. I also find that we don''t have too many other friends because we have each other. As they say on Grey''s Anatomy we are each others "people".

Ladypirate, that is a great picture! They do look alike. Thank you for sharing!

I also wanted to ask everybody if you find a lot of twins with matching names. My Mom named all of her kids with J''s, but my full name is Jacqueline(Jaxon) and my sisters name is Jessalyn(Jae). So they are kind of matching. I also have twin cousins named; Justin & Jason & Kandace & Karey.

. Thanks for posting!

I love this thread!

Twins run in my family. My mother''s generation is the first without fraternal twins, but everyone thinks that''s because my grandmother lost a baby during WWII (she lived in Berlin until 1945) and then had five miscarriages after that. My aunt and uncle had identical twins three years ago, but all the other twins in my family have been fraternal.

I have an incredible picture of my grandmother and her twin from their first day of school. I''ll scan and upload it as soon as I can.

Fun thread!

I''ve been married to an identical twin now for 19 years. I dated his twin first

They look alike, are in the same career field, have the same hobbies and the most incredible bond.

J names are pretty cool ;). I always loved my name and still do. Not once in school did anybody else have the same name as me either, so I felt very special. My Mom''s name is Jordan and so she named her three children; Jacqueline, Jessalyn & Jaden, which always gets shortened to J3. That is very exciting you are going to find out the sexes!
