Trying to choose diamond studs

I have been looking at diamond studs and have an idea of what I want but not exactly. This is what I have come up with minimum H color, SI1 clarity, around 1ctw. I have been told my lobes are small. Of course I would like bigger but don't want to look too big for everyday wear or in proportion to my lobes so maybe max 1.25ctw...? I have talked with ID Jewelry and he had Hearts and Arrows in mind but do I need that nice of a cut for that size earrings? Should I do a slightly lesser cut for stones of this size? Should I get the GIA certified stones at ID or uncertified? I am not sure about the setting of martini, basket, or the bezel. Does anyone have any advice on what would be the best setting for a stone of this size? Any advice is welcomed. Thanks.

HI:

It is all about preference. If you were to go to a lower color or clarity stone, then ideal cuts are beneficial. H & A is unnecessary but might provide added value for "you".

Also you might want to get stones that are upgradeable--therefore your parameters might be more limited (yes, ideals, H & A, etc).

cheers--Sharon

Are only certain cuts of ID Jewelrys stones upgradable?

I would call them and ask!

also as far as setting style...really a matter of personal preference.

Ideal cut for studs, yes, and as Sharon said, settings are just personal preference. I like 4 prongs, so mine are 4 prong baskets.

I would go for the ideal cuts, yes. Also, go to some of your local stores to get an idea of what setting style and what diamond size suits you best.

I would go for the ideal cuts
