Hello!! So I am sharing some photos from my trip to the jeweler today with my boyfriend to get an idea of how my wedding set will look in the end.

I plan to have a 3/4 (instead of a full) eternity set. W-Band will have 20 point diamonds (not sure of the total carat weight yet of either ring) and the E-Ring will have 30 point diamonds with a pink tourmaline as the center stone. I really love the juicy look of the bands together. :naughty:

The stores don't carry any eternity bands over 3 carats (usually about 15 point diamonds) so I opted to try on 5 stone rings instead seeing as they allow me to see how the size will look on me.

The tourmaline is 2.23 carats and I am a size 6.5. (My nails look horrible  )

Thanks in advance for letting me share my journey with you all! :wavey:

Ooh. They will all look gorgeous together.

Beautiful! The bands are gorgeous and the tourmaline is amazing, too! Can't wait to see the finished set!

Thank you for your kind words Ally66 and Marcy I will be sure to post it when the time comes! :D

Wow! That will be a lot of sparkle! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished set!!

Those are beautiful!

I do have to caution you about a couple of things, though....

You do know that Tourmaline is not all that hard (7.0-7.5) and is more appropriate for occasional wear, right? Or if worn daily, you likely will have to occasionally replace it? You might want to read this:

http://www.ajsgem.com/articles/gemstone-durability-and-hardness.html

My other caution is that the diamonds of the two rings cannot touch or they might chip each other if they are a little loose. Generally you will have to wear a spacer band between two shared prong diamond bands.

Diamondseeker, I appreciate your concern! :wavey: I have looked into the hardness of the stone (I have a blue topaz so hardness and durability became an interest at that time) and also taken into consideration chipping and damage. I've been lurking the forums for months in search of advice and experiences.

What my boyfriend and I have decided is instead of a full eternity (I originally wanted two full) to get a 3/4 to avoid bottom diamond damage and to get the rings soldered lightly to avoid damage there. As with my tourmaline I know it's a risk but it's one I'm willing to take, it makes my heart melt

Oh and thank you Maisie ;))

When I put the rings on I was almost in tears and then when we put the tourmaline on top my eyes widened and I was left looking at my hand like

Oh wow, it's going to be a gorgeous set! :appl: Can't wait to see the finished piece!

 it's going to be an amazing set!!! The colour of your tourmaline is such a beautiful and strong colour. And I love the blingy look of your set. Very sophisticated.

Your ring is very 'lljsmom'. I cannot wait to see the finished e-ring and set. Thank you for sharing :wavey:

I LOOVVEEEE LLJSMOM's ring, and you're right they are very similar! Her ring helped me make my final decision on the size of the side stones. :lickout:

Thank you Junebug and Acinom :)) I appreciate all of you sharing in my excitement!
