Same price:

1.02 F VVS1
1.03 D VS1
1.11 E VS1

$1400 more:

1.05 E VVS2

I''ve been weighing the options for days now and am at a stand still. I would appreciate anyone''s opinion.

Can you please post the diameter, table, depth, crown angle, pavilion angle, and girdle size? Or post the links to the stones if they are online. We''ll be happy to tell you which one has the best cut! All are fine as far as color and clarity, but cut has the most impact on the beauty of the stone!

Welcome to PS!

Hmmm... I don''t actually have any of that information. Could we assume for the moment that they are all equal?

Hmmmm......nope, can''t do it. That is just not the Pricescope way. We must have numbers, man. We need them to split hairs....crunch.....breathe....function!!!

Seriously, dude, all equal? then they would all be ideal cut in my world. ergo, I will take the bigger 1.11 E VS1 because it''s bigger.

Lol! Really, stones vary greatly in light performance based on the cut. If all of those stones were ideal cut, I would choose the 1.11 E VS1 because it would be slightly larger than the others but still has fabulous color and clarity.

But if you don''t know the measurements I asked for, I''d urge you not to buy until you do. A poorly cut stone can face up like a much smaller stone, for example.

Well, they are all from Tiffany & Co. if that helps, so I would guess they are of high quality. Sorry I didn''t know about all the other factors.

Ok, then I would say, take the D and E VS1''s and compare them. Pick the one that "speaks" to you. I just can''t see paying for VVSs.

And I just can''t leave this post without saying, you could easily go down to VS2 and a G, and get a bigger stone, without sacrificing a thing. There, I said it.

Tiffany does not sell bad stones. You''re right. But we did have someone recently post numbers on here, and there were most definitely some stones that were superior to others...basically some were very good while others were excellent. I love the Tiffany solitaire, but I''d want one that was ideal/excellent cut when spending that amount of money. I wish I had saved that thread, but I don''t have the energy to hunt for it.

But if you can see that the 1.11 E stone is a little larger than the others and looks as good, then I''d choose it. It will look every bit as good as a D VVS, seriously. You can''t tell the difference when you get that high in color and clarity. I''d actually go to F or G VS1, if it was for me.

All things being equal, I would go with the 1.11 E/VS1, myself b/c it is the biggest and it has a great color/clarity combo that happens to be right around my sweet spot ... but they are all lovely choices ... if you are just looking at 3 of the "C''s".
