Are there any trade shows, events or schedule of events that I can find where people sell, discuss and interact about jewelry.
This forum is great but I would also like to see if there are social events that educate and give insight to the new developments in jewelry and other knowledge points.

Are you looking for training opportunities? Are you looking for networking? Are you in the trade? I''m a bit confused by your request.

There’s lots of tradeshows, conferences and events, all over the world. Some are free, some are pretty expensive and they all have different admission requirements. There are more choices available than you could possibly attend. They each have a slightly different flavor and are targeted at a slightly different audience so selecting which ones are worth your time and money is something of an exercise in deciding what you’re trying to accomplish.

Conferences, shows, and panels are mostly for bona fide trade members. In some instances, you also have to be a member of a particular group to attend. And as Neil stated...these events can be costly.
I would suggest looking into continuing education classes in your area at local colleges and schools. Many offer jewelry and gemology classes and it''s a great opportunity to interact with other folks that share your interests.

Education is a great way to meet others who share your interests. Are you in an area with an active GIA Alumni Association chapter? There are two in Texas and in the last three months we've had presentations by Peter Yantzer, Jim Shigley, Al Gilbertson and Richard Drucker, as well as a dinner-lecture with information and methodology on recut/repair presented by some talented cutters. You're an association member once you complete your first course.

This may not be as expansive as the trade shows you're seeking, but I find these meetings a fun time and a great way to keep up with other local pros, enthusiasts and events.

Thanks for the responses.
I am not an alumni of any organization, I have a passion for all things jewelry!

I will look at the local chapters of jewelry associations.

I have been getting a lot out of this forum and have posted a couple of times, to help others and will continue to do so!
