Trade-in and/or selling diamond

Hi all, newbie here. Has anyone had any success trying to trade-in or sell their diamond? If so, where / how did you do it? I'm looking to upgrade the wife's diamond but the store we bought it from is no longer in business.

I'd love to know this too the b&m store where my fiance bought my e-ring has no trade up policy whatsoever

Spend $100 to get a GIA cert and you can put it up for sale on the auction site mentioned in another thread here. That sounds like a great way to me for people to possibly realize more value out a diamond they are selling than the fire sale prices they usually get offered.
