Given the measurements of these PRINCESS cut diamonds, will diamond #2 look a lot bigger than #1 when mounted (in platinum cathedral setting)? I like the accompanying specs better on #1, but is it "hiding" too much weight with its depth? I was also told to buy a diamond with the depth larger than the table, and #2 doesn't qualify, although I don't remember where I heard that.

#1: 6.00x5.98x4.52mm...1.36ct, G, VVS2, depth 75.6, table 74, Premium Cut, polish VG, sym VG

#2: 6.36x6.32x4.07mm...1.34ct, F, VS1, depth 64.4, table 73, Very Good Cut, polish Good, sym Good

Thank you!

#2 will look substantially larger face up than #1 - you''ll see about a 14% difference in face up surface area.

But if you haven''t seen either stone, you won''t be able to tell whether they are attractive or not from this info alone...

and there are many other factors to consider with a Princess cut...crown height/angles, pavilion angles, girdle thickness (especially at the corners), etc.

I like that #2 will appear that much larger face-up, but I''m concerned about the symmetry and polish only being Good, and the clarity is less than #1.

Is there a noticeable difference going from Good to Very Good polish & symmetry?

if the stones are graded by a reputable lab, you should not see inclusions in either stone. also, your eyes will not see the difference between very good and good symmetry.
