Is your 2nd toe longer than your Big Toe?

Yes! We call them 4-5-3-2-1 toes in my family, and everyone has them. :cheeky:

Freako! Only the cool kids get to be in the freako club

No, but one of my twins boys had that! My hubby might too, now that I think about it. lol

actually I looked at my feet and they are neck n neck in length. lol I wonder where that puts me??

HA! I never knew it was "weird" until last night when I read that Charlie Sheen won't date women w/longer 2nd toes and I was like HEY! (Not that I'd ever want to be #losing w/him anyhoo but) And went to research what the deal was. Now I think I've stumbled onto the cause of a whole HOST of lower back/knee/ankle/foot/toe pain at least for me. Am SO excited that maybe a simple orthotic can help immensely.

As for the look - I've always thought I had pretty feet! Wide but pretty w/elegant long toes. Only been able to check w/one of my sisters but she has it too! (Probably part of the reason I thought it was totes normal.)

Rock on fellow freakos!

Now that I look - - I'm belong to the freak camp!

But, I think I'm there by default instead of true coolness.

I think age and bunions have shortened my big toe so it's just a wee bit below the next toe.

Hey, my polish is pretty!

I'm neck and neck as well. That said, look at your parents feet. Your feet will look exactly like one of theirs! I have my Mom's feet. FI has his Dad's feet. Wonder what our kiddos will have.

No.

My feet are hideous AND I have world class cankles. :nono: ;(

I had to email my parents as they're not close enough to take a peek! Here's the quote I read that started my descent into toe-mania:

"I like women's feet, too. I've not dated girls because of their feet -- just the length of certain toes and the shape of where things should be and they're not. Hammertoes are bad. And the second toe being too long? That's bad, too." -- On his foot fetish (to Rolling Stone).

Guess it's a good thing I'm married & not so into tiger's blood/crazy/addition.

Yep, but just barely. Actually, my #2, 3, and 4 toes are all the same length...and then my pinky toes are the size they should be, which makes them look extra tiny next to my abnormally long other toes.

On the plus side, I'm great at picking things up off the ground with my toes...which has come in handy since I can't really bend over anymore.

My second toe is longer than my big toe, but I never thought that meant there was something wrong with me.

No. My toes are all messed up. My middle toe on my left foot is the shorter than the toes on either side of it. And my toes are all like..you people w/long toes, my toes end at your first toe knuckle. My kids toes are longer than mine I think. The only thing I've ever found they're good for is freakish balance control.

what do you think?...

Yes, my second toe is longer, but I remember reading that this was really closer to a 50/50 distribution among the population, in other words, not "weird" or "freako".

Both of my second toes are shorter than my big toe, but on my right foot more so than on my left. I think that makes me a freako of a whole 'nother category!

Not only is the second toe longer, they look like fingers. Deco - I admire your description of "elegant long toes". Mine are more like freakish, ridiculously long - "ew - look at those" toes.

Mine descend down in size but I obviously suck at doing my own pedi's LOL. Be kind though as I did it in the car last weekend...haven't gotten around to doing a proper one yet. Spending too much time on PS. :cheeky:

This is for you DF since you were brave enough to post yours...they are yours right?

We have finger toes in my family, too! I like the "elegant long toes" description, but I fear it doesn't apply to our crazy digits!

We have crazy long fingers, as well. My DH has these little stubby toes, so maybe the combination will give our LOs a shot at having normal looking ones!

Here's a picture. My foot is on the right, my sissy's is on the left.

I have what my husband calls "elfin toes". I think I have cute feet. I once saw a woman that had the weirdest/ugliest feet I'd ever seen - her 3rd (middle) toe was much longer than the rest of her toes and it just looked *weird*. The rest of her toes looked normal sized, but those middle ones were just like freaks of nature....

Here are my "elfin" toes...tattoofeet_3.jpg

YouDO have cute toes lil misfit!

Big toe is longest. I still think I have freak toes though cause of their length. Both parents have long toes. Even my little toe is a whole foot finger! They do come in useful for picking stuff up.

A foot with a longer second toe is called a Greek foot. Doesn't that sound fancy? Greek statues often had this foot shape.

A foot with a longer big toe and the others gradually decreasing in size is an Egyptian foot and one where the second toe and big toe are the same length is a Roman foot. Now, if all the toes except the little one are roughly the same length, then you have a square or peasant foot.

That is my useless trivia for the day, unless someone takes up ballet and wants to buy pointe shoes.

I always thought it meant I am the BOSS of the family.

My second toe is longer and my daughters third toe is longer.

Negative!

Although I managed to inherit my dad's big toes which unfortunately resemble table-tennis bats, they graduate in length right down to the last little piggy.

 ...

I have the Egyptian foot (if one is to go by LD's categories) with my toes decreasing in length in what is no doubt a complex and elegant mathematical formula written by the gods themselves and embedded deeply into the foundation of the very creation itself.

However, that sublime geometry is soiled by the rotten genetics that gave me ligament hyperlaxity resulting in feet that at rest at least, look like normal feet with (great toes) and arches, but when actually USED, flatten out like month-old roadkill. Had it all my life, and age has not improved the situation - as is usual with age I'm finding.

I'd die without custom orthotics. And I hate on general principle, anyone who can wear "cute" shoes, since my pretensions at fashion have been destroyed by my having to wear athletic shoes with almost everything. Sucks.
