Friends,

I'm sitting here in N.Y.C. not far from the scene of today's "miracle on the Hudson" and I'm exalting in this incredible miracle and the unbelievable display of human kindness and spirit.

It is simply unreal how 150 human lives were spared today and how total strangers came forward in frigid and dangerous conditions to help save lives.

There is much to learn from this miracle and there will be much to say and by many in the coming days and weeks.

For now, my own personal feelings are that of gratitude for witnessing a miracle and the feeling of enrichment that comes from observing the indomitable spirit and courage of our fellow men.

Then, there is also the refreshing feeling of simply being alive; the reaffirmation that life itself is our most precious asset.
I don't want to sound too melodramatic, but the bottom line is.... we are alive!

I propose that we all go home tonight, gather around our loved one(s) for hugs and kisses.
Let's call the people we love; our family and friends, to tell them how much they mean to us.

.....and then let's make a toast on some good wine/schnapps!!!.....but not too much, cuz tomorrow it's back into the grind of another day and our sometimes mundane lives.....

because I fly out of La Guardia on U.S. Airways A LOT. Seriously, I was freaking out. I''m so glad everyone was okay!

I''m so, so glad everything turned out fine in the end, and really inspired by how it played out. So many people stepped up to the plate and made the rescue effort possible!

In the midst of all the bad news that we hear on a daily basis, this truly was an uplifting story. We''re thinking bombs and terrorists - it was a flock of birds. We''re thinking death - and everyone survived. It is these kinds of things that keep us believing in life and gives us a reaffirmation of the human spirit.

While I can''t imagine having to go through that experience, those that did must really feel like they did experience a miracle! I know all of us watching did!

I had just turned on the TV when the news coverage began. My heart sunk and I was praying for everyone to come out okay. I got teary eyed when the first passengers made it to shore. Truly a miracle! Thanks be to God.

I agree...miracle indeed!!

My father and his co-workers watched it from their building. This is EXACTLY why I am terrified

to fly. When 9/11 happened, two of the jets actually just barely missed each other in the air over Stewart Air Force Base, aka over my house!!

I too am glad everyone is safe. The pilot is a HERO

and saved the lives of not only the people on board, but the people in the Bronx as well who would have had to deal with another 9/11 situation (minus the terrorists). Bravo!
