Friends,
I'm sitting here in N.Y.C. not far from the scene of today's "miracle on the Hudson" and I'm exalting in this incredible miracle and the unbelievable display of human kindness and spirit.
It is simply unreal how 150 human lives were spared today and how total strangers came forward in frigid and dangerous conditions to help save lives.
There is much to learn from this miracle and there will be much to say and by many in the coming days and weeks.
For now, my own personal feelings are that of gratitude for witnessing a miracle and the feeling of enrichment that comes from observing the indomitable spirit and courage of our fellow men.
Then, there is also the refreshing feeling of simply being alive; the reaffirmation that life itself is our most precious asset.
I don't want to sound too melodramatic, but the bottom line is.... we are alive!
I propose that we all go home tonight, gather around our loved one(s) for hugs and kisses.
Let's call the people we love; our family and friends, to tell them how much they mean to us.
.....and then let's make a toast on some good wine/schnapps!!!.....but not too much, cuz tomorrow it's back into the grind of another day and our sometimes mundane lives.....
