Today show about shared diamond necklace, need more info!

I missed the entire segment - my biz partner called Grr!

Apparently 13 women are sharing a $37,000.00 diamond line necklace. All I caught was they each get it for 1 mo. and they have to share if someone has a special event.

If anyone else see it - fill me in?

Yes, the story was in this week''s People Magazine too. They each get it for 4 weeks at a time, and they each have to promise to wear it at least once during sex!

My only thought after finishing the article is whether they also split the cost of the insurance on it.

Ewww! Wear it during sex? I know it wouldn''t really get "dirty" necessarily, but I don''t know, something about that creeps me out!

Wearing it during quality time will dull the brilliance of the stones (perspiration and other things)-so-they should also share the cost of a bottle of jewelry cleaner. If the wearer''s neck rubs against anything too much, the necklace could break.

I saw this article in PEOPLE last week....I thought it was sweet!! The necklace is named "jewelia" (pron. Julia) after Julia Child. Very cute story!

I saw the segment this morning. Maybe I''m a cynic - but I came away thinking these women thought sharing this necklace was akin to world peace. Raising it to some sort of noble deed. I didn''t think it was necessary to mention the whole sex thing.

It sure is a pretty necklace though & a decent idea.

Fire&Ice, I completely agree. I thought the segment would have done well as a simple puff piece about ladies loving some fine jewelry, but the woman who organized the deal went on and on about the deeper meaning behind the necklace, blah blah blah, almost trying to downplay the simple fact that she wanted a nice necklace. Why not just go with that?

I also sat there with a grin wondering how long it would take for the first bickering match to heat up. Maybe in a year, People will run the article, "An Icy Breakup".
