I have been a PS lurker for YEARS. Since I was in high school.
The summer of 2009 I officially registered & started posting in the LIW forum because my boyfriend & I were talking about getting engaged that summer. I was on the LIW list & everything
Then as summer turned into fall & our life circumstances began to change it was clear that the engagement would have to wait. I decided that I needed to stay away from PS for awhile & focus on other things.
In March of this year we bought our first home together & although I was hopeful for an engagement I knew that we would not have the extra money for a ring & I would have to wait. This summer was diffcult because the topic of marriage kept coming up in our conversations with friends, family, co-workers & even complete strangers! It was just so awkward to refer to him as my boyfriend or for him to refer to me as his girlfriend, those terms just didnt describe our relationship the way we felt about it but we felt uncomfortable using fiance because people immediately looked at my empty ring finger.
In November we came across a GREAT deal on an emerald cut diamond. We purchased it from a family member & I immediately started looking for a setting. I went to several local jewelry stores but never found exactly what I was looking for. I went to Nashville (which is about an hr away from where we live) and fell in love with the Verragio Couture 0378. I asked the jeweler if they could make the setting for an emerald cut & she said ABSOLUTELY! So he put a downpayment on the setting! It finally was beginning to feel real, like this is REALLY going to happen. The jewelery store representative told me that because the setting had to be shipped & then customized that it would take between 4 - 6 weeks for it to get here. Once it was finished they would call BF to tell him that it was in so it could be a surprise! It is now WEEK 6 & I'm really starting to get ansy! I decided to come back to PS to vent bc I know you ladies are the only ones who would really understand. I'm so excited and anxious at the same time! HELP!
