So not sure where to post this tip. I have a titanium ring with a diamond setting. Cleaning it over time seems to have made the titanium look a little darker, sort of like it has a tint. I think Kenny made a reference to them getting darker in one of his posts somewhere. Not radical but noticeable if compared to other metals. Since this is not gold or platinum, I chalked it up to something I had to live with.
I was wrong! Apparently, while titanium dose not ever rust or tarnish, it can oxidize in certain chemicals, most notably the same ones a lot of us use to clean our diamonds in, probably the ammonia based ones. The solution? METAL POLISH! I tried this just on a chance and Bam! that thing looks almost like platinum.
You need the kind that comes in a tube that is like a paste. Just rub some on and wipe off. I cannot believe how much black stuff came off in the towel. Just though I would pass this on.
I used something called MAAS Metal polish.
