Hello all,

I’m looking to set a 1.35ct RB stone at WF on a tiffany inspired solitaire and would like to ask for your opinions. Granted that it’s a couple hundred bucks more expensive than that at JA, what is really the difference (I'm trying to avoid the hassale of getting a loose diamond at WF and get the setting setting somewhere else)? And anyone has experience with this WF setting? My concern is (maybe it’s just the picture) is that the prongs look pretty thick and I obviously don’t want the prong to cover too much of the stone. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I had this setting as my very first temp setting. It's fine. It wasn't amazing, it definitely doesn't look like the real Tiffany setting, but it's a classic 6 prong. The prongs were fine (not claw), but didn't overwhelm my 1.3 stone. My main issue was that my wedding band didn't sit flush with with my ring since the head was integrated with the band. My friend has this setting from WF and I much prefer it.

It's more expensive than the the one you've picked out but the quality is much higher IMO.

That is a very standard 6 prong setting and that is pretty much all it has in common with a real Tiffany setting. There is nothing wrong with it, though, and the prongs will not cover the stone too much. You can mention to them to try to make the prongs as small as is safe.

If you wanted a true Tiffany repro, you'd probably want the Vatche U-113 which they also carry, but it will cost a good bit more.

i love the vatche setting as well...but right after i pick out the stone, i realize i need to essentially buy a even bigger stone for uncle sam, wiping out any good setting choice out there.

plus, my gf wants something simple. as long the WF simple 6 prong solitaire doesn't look like dinosaur claws holding up my rock, i thought i would be fine...but now it sounds like that setting is just a rough cookie cutter setting...hmmmmmm

Cool….they all look great! I especially like the contemporary 6 prong one. I am really only looking at 6 prong because of the (false) sense of additional security.

Boy…can’t wait to see the real thing. So excited!
