well i found my husband to be on the internet.. I bought a new car on the internet.. and make my living from the internet..so here goes. Many times I see settings where the diamond has been removed, either recut or sold.. So I want the tiffany and Co ring without the price tag.. Anyone know where I can find a used Tiffany and Co mounting for an 8.95 round brilliant stone? Thanks

I bet you can have one made to look like the real thing. People do it all the time. Do a search and I'll bet you can find a thread about it. I'll try to find the thread for you.

Hi!

This is a hard one... Auction sites will not work, but a local jeweler might help actually. Or you can as well drop e-mail to half a dozen jewelers through the Net, just to keep the process virtual

. Why... well, jewelers may keep old settings from which the stones were removed, but, to find a Tiff abandoned like this after a large diamond has been removed does not sound like the most probable thing. However, it sounds (from a post around here) that someone got even the salesperson at some Tiff store fooled by a certain Lazare Kaplan setting. I have only a vague idea about how the current Tiffany looks like in minute detail, but maybe it is worth considering the Kaplan setting? What I do know,is that the respective relative looks very, very close to what the Tiffany setting looked like in the 20's. Hope you'll find better help on pricescope!

This is the closest setting to the real deal I found and I think it is almost identical. If i really study this up close to the real thing, i can spot one minor minor difference. Other than that, it's about perfect. Some custom jewelers may not be willing to duplicate the tiffany ring exactly for fear of trademark infringement. who knows. . . good luck

It's true. The Lazare Kaplan fooled the Tiffany sales rep

SuperbCert too has a very nice mounting that looks extremely close to the real thing.
I don't know if you're supposed to buy both the diamond and the setting from them, though.
