Thoughts on this "Rose de France"

Hello All,
I'm in love with purple and I love larger stones. What do you think of this Rose de France amethyst from Jeff Davies? I gasped when I saw it. Specs are14.67cts custom cut. 17.59x13.76x10.84mm Also, any feedback as to nice settings for this?

That's very beautiful. My personal ideal 'Rose de France' is lighter in colour.

17x13 is so small, maybe a triple halo?

I think rose gold suits the colour, but that's just me.

my experience with rose de france is more "pink" than overt purple.
but you won't know until you see it.

In the picture it's a pretty lighter purple color. It's definitely a nice large stone and the cutting looks nice; and I'll admit I'm partial to all things purple as well. I've only bought one stone from Jeff, and I did send him a few questions via facebook to get a better understanding of how the stone looked IRL before buying it. He sometimes has videos too, I don't see one online for this stone, but if you ask he may be able to provide one.

I think of Rose de France as paler & with more pink than that, but it doesn't matter what name you call it -- looks like a very pretty stone. If Jeff calls it Rose de France, maybe it only shows that amount of saturation in a certain light, so taking a look at it is a good idea. Rose gold or high-carat yellow gold would look great.

Agree that rose gold will go well with this amethyst and that in my mind, "rose de france" is a lighter pink purple.

Thanks for all the feedback! I thought that Rose de France was lighter too. I have a ring that has the color and is much paler. I requested a video from Jeff, and he agreed to put one up a little later. I'll try to post the link when he does. A rose gold setting sounds pretty. I hope it's as striking in the video as in the picture. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I received my amethyst and I just wanted to come back and show you some pictures.
