I feel like I’ve never seen a pre-loved Leon Mege ring outside of PS. The sapphire is stated to be loose in the setting. With what their rings cost, I would expect the sapphire to be natural. But is it even the original stone? It’s under $1900 and the center is 2 cts.
I’m not crazy about the design or the colour of the stone. I think if I were to get a LM ring, I’d want one with more design features instead of one that looks like any random ring.
That said if you like the design and colour, the brand is a bonus! I do think it’s a lovely ready to wear purchase, just not for me if that makes sense.
Are there any non box shots of it? I don't know if that's an original stone, honestly. It would need to be sent for major repair. That basket has been beyond mangled and it makes me worried about the pave.
That's in terrible shape! Was the head replaced? The prongs are lumpy and crude--they look like a single prong that's been crudely sliced, not like Leon's delicate double claws. One side of the basket looks like white gold with the plating worn off, but the listing claims it's platinum. The sapphire is not an attractive color, though that could just be the photography--that seller is known for their crappy photos.
I agree... I highly doubt that is the original stone (unless the semi-mount was purchased, and someone else added the gem later). It does not appear to be up to LM's standards in either cut or color. Plus it looks like a poor fit for the mounting, which I suspect is why it's loose and no one has bothered to fix it. The prongs also look like they've been opened and closed a time or two. Hard pass, IMO!
Good to hear I am not the only one who has doubts whether it is a true LM piece as it looks too shabby and not up to the LM standard that I would expect.
