Thoughts on this diamond?

I have to make a decision on whether to hold this diamond. If so it would be a large deposit. Half the cost of the diamond since they would be holding it for an extended period of time. I’m wondering if this is normal? I also want to get thoughts on the diamond to know whether it is worth the hold. It is the cushion cut diamond in the pictures. I have also included the ASET report and a video from the vendor.

It is, I started this since I wasn’t getting much feedback before and have to make a decision soon. I’m also not sure about the deposit.

Starting multiple post about the same thing makes you look like a troll, not to be harsh but you have been asking about this since mid September, people probably just aren’t taking you seriously.

No one here can advise you over a deposit except for the vendor.

I suppose that might be the case, but I don’t think there is a way to delete this thread now. I was really looking for feedback on the video which is better quality though I haven’t gotten that yet. And my assumption is that all vendors would have similar policies on placing a hold so I’m wondering if half the value is normal. That seems pretty steep to me.

I kinda skimmed over the previous thread, the diamond looks stunning and from what other said it’s a nice looking cushion. I don’t have any experience with cushions but if the diamond is one that you like then do it.

Thanks, just trying to make sure from the experts if this is the best I can do. I do love it but given how big of a purchase this is, I have some hesitation and want to make sure I’m getting the best as I have no intention of upgrading in the future. Given that sometimes the ASET doesn’t tell you everything about fancy cuts, I wanted to share the video.

Looks like a beautiful cushion from the video - the light return images are fine although they don't always tell the whole story, a bit of mush around the edges of the table but doesn't look to be a problem once it's moving. It does look to have edge to edge brightness and crisp, defined faceting.

Every vendor is different in terms of a deposit, but if they are holding it for an extended period of time that probably means that they would even be out of the suppliers return policy so they want extra assurance that you will go ahead with the purchase and not get stuck with the stone. Vendors usually get stones 'on memo' without having to pay for them but that's only for a few days so I don't think their ask is unreasonable.
