Hello, I am a newb.. I wanted some opinion regarding these two stones that I am interested in.

0.70 E color, VS1, Blue Nile Signature Ideal
GIA triple excellent, no fluorescence
Table: 56%, Depth: 60.8%, Crown: 34 degrees, Pavillion: 40.8
Thin to medium faceted.
5.76 x 5.79 x 3.51
$3655

I currently have this stone and it is very pretty, no complaints, but I am thinking of trading it in for a

0.70 D color, VS1
GIA triple excellent, no fluorescence
Table: 57, Depth: 60.3, Crown: 34, Pavillion 40.8
Thin to medium faceted
5.76 x 5.79 x 3.51
$3657

Iam pretty sure the 1st stone has a slight markup because of the signature ideal cut, but I just think the 2nd stone is better deal and just as good as the signature ideal without the markup. Am I right to assume this? Is the signature ideal worth the approximately $300-400 markup that I could be spending on an increase in color? In addition, I liked the table at 56%, do you guys think that a 57% table is slightly large for the proportions. Thanks in advance

No crown angle for the second stone?

Numbers for the first are as safe as they can be to buy without an IS.

Crown for #2? 57 table is not too big.

Number is quite safe. why not buy from a vendor that can provide idealscope image?

For example this? E VS1

or D VS2

These 2 are H&A stones that are equivalent to BN SI but with images to prove their H&A optics.

Or this non-H&A ideal cut stone. You can ask JA for idealscope image.

The prices are the same and the numbers too, you won''t see a difference in color between a D and an E. I''d stick with what you have

It isn''t worth the hassel IMHO, unless you like the idea of having a D color.

I am inclined to think the same as Dreamer, unless you want an undisputed h&a diamond, then I would suggest working with a vendor who can supply images, BN as you are probably aware do not offer images.

I have to stick with BN for this.. as i''ve returned 3 rings and they''ve been very patient with me. Can''t really jump ship now. In addition, my fiance likes the comfort fit 2.5mm solitaire they have at BN, and while JA has it too, it seems that it is considerably thicker than the BN one which I kind of think the BN one is already slightly slightly thicker than I would like. Also, I need to get it resized anyways, so if the diamond is slightly better (D vs E), i was thinking why not since they cost the same?

Is it pretty much a guarantee that the 2nd diamond with the proportions and GIA grading (I think it would qualify as AGS 000 as well) would perform very similar to the BN signature ideal?

No guarantees as various factors could affect this that we can''t account for without images, but there is a possibility they could behave similarly.

Ditto - no guarantees, but I'd feel safe enough with the assumption that they perform similarly.
