My BF and I went to ERD on 4/23 and met with Gary.
Gary had a 1.70 that I liked the best out of the 4 stones he had picked for us.... here are the specs:
1.70
I
SI1
GIA excellent cut
polish: excellent
Symmetry: Very good
Flour: none
Comments: surface graining not shown....(i looked at this stone through a loop and idealscope but didnt seen anything??)
Laser inscribed: H&A
Table 56%
Depth 61.8%
Crown:35.0 degrees
pavillion: 40.3 degrees
dimmensions: 7.64-7.67-4.73mm

The inclusions are a bunch of very small feathers along the edge of the stone. I could see them if i looked closely with a loop but it was definately "eye clean" from 6-8 inches away
I ran the HCA and it scored a .9 and was within the AGS 0 range (solid white outline)

What are your thoughts on this stone? any reason why we should NOT consider it?

Thank you in advance!!

As you have seen it and love it, there is every reason for you to consider it in my opinion! Did Gary have any images or patterns of this diamonds hearts and arrows to show you?

Lorelei,
Thank you for your quick response!

He didnt have images to show me since I saw it in person, but I viewed the arrows through an idealscope and the hearts with another tool ( I dont remember what it was called)
It was my first time using an ideal scope but Gary printed out a sheet of what an ideal cut stone should look like under the idealscope and I compared it and the stone looked great.

We are definately considering it as my stone, I just wanted to see if there was anything I was overlooking since this will be our first purchase

Thank you again!

You are welcome! As you have seen the diamond and like it, then it is definitely worthy of consideration. You might want to read this info regarding hearts and arrows, although I would think Gary can advise you as to whether it is a true H&A stone, extra knowledge is always helpful. http://diamonds.pricescope.com/hna.asp

I don't see a problem with the stone and Lorelei's link about the H&A pattern is a good read.

k, did you type the correct pavilion angle?
