Its an old gia cert from a private seller...whats a good price for this stone?

the problem with trying to price this stone is that it is not new, and the secondary market is surprisingly unstructured wrt. pricing goods.

not only does the cert not show angle and proportion information that we have learnt since 2003 is vital to judging cut, it does not represent the current state of the stone, but what was purchased in 2003. It could be worn enough to require a polish, it could be scratched or chipped - all things that further reduce value.

For a stone of this potential value (we are talking potentially thousands of $$ here) I would require an independent appraisal (by a professional appraiser of your choosing); he/she can give you an estimate of what the stone is worth - and can tell you in detail about cut quality and condition.
