Thoughts on these OECs?

Thanks to PS, I have fallen in love with these old charmers and am trying to learn as much as I can about them. I came across this ring and snapped it up (I do have a 7 day return policy). Since I know very little about OECs, would you be so kind as to give me your opinions? The specs are: 1.80 tcw (this is approximate, since they are currently mounted), I color, VS2 clarity. It was $2500. My plan would be to reset them into bezeled milgrain earrings....the top one looks like it has some nicks in them. Could they be polished out?

nicks on the girdles could be cleaned up for not a lot of money.

in the last 2 pictures there looks like what might be some nicks on the crown or are they inclusions or reflections?
Clean them the look at it under a loupe if you have one.

overall they look nice if the chips are just on the girdle.

Here is the main area im concerned about.
What is it?

Thanks so much for the feedback Karl. I'll see if I can figure out what that is....

maybe a side view picture of the area if you want more opinions?

you pulled the trigger Yenny! I am still debating on my own oec purchase! When is the ring supposed to be delivered?

It's being sent on Monday, assuming that the area Karl indicated isn't a chip (I've emailed her the photo that Karl posted to ask about it). I really have to stop spending so much time here...it's bad for the wallet! :cheeky:

to me the arrow Karl made seems to point to a decent sized chip below the girdle.
Not that it can't be fixed- but it might cost a fair amount of weight- and result in a new facet that might change the look o the stone a bit....

Having said that, they look nice, if the price was right.

Karl was right, it is a chip. Thank you Karl for saving me the cost of having to ship them back! I guess I'll keep looking! :cheeky:
