Symmetry: Good
Depth: 65.4%
Table: 60.1%
Length/Width Ratio: 1.13
Girdle: Thin to Slightly Thick

Would this stone put out the chunky flashes of an antique cut? Thoughts on the depth/table?/girdle? I'm a little worried about the thin girdle.

Please let me know if this is a good stone worth looking at. Thanks!

Sorry I forgot to add Cushion to the thread title but it looks like the forum won't let me edit the title.

We really can't tell anything by numbers unfortunately, have you seen the diamond in person or if it is with an online seller, can you get detailed pictures and an ASET or Idealscope image? That would tell us more, but as to the nuances of its performance it would really need to be seen either by yourself or a trusted expert who can give you a detailed picture of its personality. The girdle should be fine, thin is within acceptable range, occasionally very thin/ ex thin might be a durability issue but each diamond needs evaluation on a case by case basis.

Is the diamond GIA graded?

Yes it is GIA graded. I will see if I can obtain additional images.

Unfortunately I can''t view it in person because it''s in NY and I''m in CA.

Okay they said they will send me a Sarin report by Monday. I will post it once I receive it. Thanks!

Get them to send you a picture of the diamond. The sarin will only tell you so much, with fancy cuts you really needs images, ASETs etc.

Looks like I won''t be able to get pics, only the sarin which will hopefully come Mon.

Its going to be a bit tough without pics - cushions are so individual. Why wouldn''t the seller be willing to share photos with you?

No way to even consider a cushion without the pictures. I''d tell them no deal unless they can supply some. It''s trouble sending stones back and forth, so I''d certainly need pictures to eliminate ones that are not contenders.

Blue Nile is the dealer and from what I've read they don't do the picture thing. Any way around it other than to order it and return it?

All the diamonds I have seen with that plot pattern are modern cushions. My diamond has the same pattern.

Does your diamond give off that chunky flash of an antique cut? I''m still not too familiar with the various cuts of a cushion that will give off that chunky flash.
