Hi,

I've been looking for a cushion cut pink sapphire for about 6 months now (red pink or magenta pink). Since I'm not getting an answer from gemfix (probably because I've asked them too many questions already and not purchased anything yet), I thought I'd ask the question here. Does this magenta pink sapphire look too dark? I have a feeling that it will look extinct under low lighting but I'm just checking with you...

Thanks,

yes

Uppy, that's a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous stone. Likely it is ten times the cost of the one posted that is too dark.

.

Way too dark... looks lifeless.

Yeah I saw that sri lankan sapphire... I'm pretty sure I can't afford it though.
Thanks for the suggestion though,
And thanks for confirming my suspicions everyone!

I can't comment about the stone due to the rules, but I figured the following info is helpful and is within them.

One thing is the image was taken on a mirror, which will typically reflect light back up into the gemstone itself and can cause stones to look lighter then normal, it all depends on the angle of the lighting used. It also looks a bit underexposed, meaning it is darker then real life would have been, this could attribute to the stone appearing darker then it is.

Hope this helps out.

Thanks digitaldevo and VapidLapid,

digitaldevo: thanks for the explanation.

VL: thanks for the suggestions (you suggested the round pink sapphire from gemrite a few months ago and I'm thinking that I might go with that one in the end). I didn't want a round sapphire at first but I do love how vivid that one is.

Best,

What rule are you referring to?

I think the rule digidevo referred to is a Pricescope rule about trademembers (professionals in gems and jewelry) not being allowed to comment on another trademember's wares.

Thank you VapidLapid... I'm fairly new here (I know the basic rules but some of them slip my mind).
